I am probably the last person on this site who should post this but I think the time has come.

While I am all for folks getting their buzz on I think we as fans need to be a little better at policing what is said on this site (or posted). There has been a resurgence of discussion about illicit behavior on this site and with Festival / Summer season upon us it is probably a good reminder.

Also it doesn\'t shine that great a light on the band. When promoters and new fans check out the site and there is that kind of talk or threads not being marked NSFW (for the questionable photos)

I would also remind folks that this site is hosted at my place of employment and we do a lot of work for government organizations that you would not want reading the type of things I am alluding to in this post.

So a quick recap. Don\'t post anything you wouldn\'t want the fuzz reading and try to mark threads NSFW if you even think there is a slight issue. Some folks could get in trouble and thats what we want to avoid.

Sorry if I come off preachy, was not intended. And I am just as much an offender as anyone so I\'ll do my best as well.

No that stuff is ok for the most part. I mean more specific stuff like  the references to tanks, L, DMT whos got this, I partied with that, etc etc

I just don\'t want folks to get in trouble nor would I want to turn new folks off on the band. Thats all. how tos are fine it is just the we did, I did, when we gonna do kind of stuff.

If I really had an issue with a post I would delete it. But I have to remind myself A LOT that I tend to have a more open opinion on what is acceptable then some folks.

I just wanted people (including myself) to perhaps think 2x before posting something that on a stricter board might get moderated.

Sure name calling can certainly fall under that category but we all tend to have thick skin here and I don\'t think anyone wants to be policing that stuff. (unless they have to)

Again just trying to create a little awareness that is all

why people think its a smart idea to bring up blatant drug abuse on a public message board in that fashion is beyond me.

Is this thread really needed?

It is not illegal to post on a message board about alleged drug use/abuse which is all it can be (alleged) as a post on an internet message board.

I do not see posts referring to the sale of illegal drugs which could lead authorities to follow up (maybe) on that poster\'s IP addy or whatever. Those type posts I can see trying to moderate.

I really do not think the Breakfast or their fans are of significant interest to authorities no matter what is posted on an internet fansite for them.

true, but to those new fans who come onto this board in search of music, who may not use or approve of drug use, it may be a turn-off.  

While I think it is a public forum & people are free to write whatever they want, it\'s also important to think of how our words may reflect on this band & it\'s image.
