I know that I haven\'t been the most positive, upbeat or even supportive person on this board, but you all please send your prayers, positive thoughts and good vibes to my niece Ella Jane. Yesterday she was brought into the hospital and the doctors found out that she had massive infections and went into septic shock. I don\'t know much about it other than what I found online, but it looks like the survival rate for septic shock is 50%. My niece was born having seisures and shortly after lost her gag reflex, which has forced her to have a permanent feeding tube put in. Less than six months ago, she had to have hip dysplasia surgery. Ella is a little over 1-1/2 years old and has had to fight her whole life. For the sake of my brother and his wife and all of my family, God, I hope she comes out on the positive side of that 50%. No parent should have to bury a child. So, please, keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

We just got news from my mother. Ella has stabilized and her blood pressure is getting better. She\'s not out of the woods, but this is a good sign. Thanks in advance for the positive energy.

That\'s for all of the prayers and vibes. I\'ll let my brother know when I talk to him tonight. Things seem to be looking a little better, so of. She\'s still stabilized but they moved her to the babies at Columbia - so she\'s getting the best care. I\'ve got all my fingers and toes crossed.
Sounds like she is a tough little gal. Stay positive; your family is in my thoughts.
All you prayers, thoughts, hugs and positive vibes have worked wonders. Unfortunately, the doctors had to remove my niece\'s colon because that was the source of the infection. But the doctors have been so pleased with her progress since that they moved her into a regular pediatric wing earlier this week and it looks like she\'s going to be coming home within the next couple of days.
