a few years back, there was a guy on the fire department who had tons of cash but he was so cheap that he stayed on the job long past needing to be there. he was always playing lotto. it\'s very common in any firehouse to write the lotto numbers on a chalkboard in the kitchen or some common area. his co-workers, knowing that his tickets were in his locker, waited for his company to go on a call and went to his locker and got his numbers. they then wrote them on the chalk board and waited. after a while, he came back from the call and sat down in the kitchen. suddenly he sprints off up the stairs and comes back with his tickets. after reading the numbers, he jumps up on the table and starts dancing and singing, pointing at people (including the battalion chief) saying things like "i never liked you" and "I **** quit". they had to stop him from leaving work and needless to say, how he felt about certain people was no longer any secret. he didn\'t say a word for the rest of the shift.

when we work overtime shifts, it\'s customary for the person working the overtime to bring in dessert or donuts or bagels etc...one guy was going to work at a different firehouse the morning after a night shift so he purchased a cake to bring with him in the morning. he put the cake out in his car so that it wouldn\'t get eaten before he left. after he went to sleep, some guys used a slim jim to open his car and get to the cake. they had some tubes of cake writing stuff, so they wrote something like "engine 6 sucks big balls" on it and put the box back in his car. the next morning he goes walking in to engine 6 with the box, saying how he had brought a cake for the guys and puts it on the table. eventually someone opens the box to find the message. the guy who bought the cake is sort of sensitive so they hammered the crap out him all day for bringing them a cake that said that on it. needles to say, on my job, you better know how to take a joke.
