just because there is no president being elected, it is still an election day. Voting today will have more of a direct effect on your day to day lives than any presidential election ever did. Offices like mayors, first selectmen, school boards, statehousemen, sheriffs, etc, etc are all on the ballots. These people are making decisions about how much your property is worth, how much to tax you and charge you for utilities, whether to let soda companies dictate what your children eat in school, whether to fund the football team at the expense of dropping fine arts and music programs, what roads (if any) that you drive on need to be fixed so you don\'t die in an accident, etc, etc, etc
just shut the hell up, quit your bitching and go vote you lazy bastards.
yeah, that. Come on, keep east haven the shining star of the shoreline.
i almost wore a very similiar cow costume, robyn. i was gonna also wear my cat-in-the-hat hat and call myself The Cow-in-the-Hat, Another Unfortunate Corporate Spin Off... but instead i stuck with the glow in the dark alien smiley face with the c-i-t-h hat tee shirt and my c-i-t-h hat at the same rakish angle as the alien smiley face....
wow, that\'s useless without pics, huh?!
oh, and in other news, i just got back from voting. we had a pretty contentious race for state senate here, with the incumbent being a woman i truly despise, both in her politics and her personal life. short story, she f\'ed her way into her seat, while destroying a 20+ year marriage along the way. and her daughter\'s a total ho-bag. she\'s been known to do it for dr00gs before.... classy!
These are also the elections were your vote counts the most. Last time my alderman was re-elected the margin was only 14 votes.
I was going to but it came down to bong hits or voting. I hope the good guys won!
