The thing that stinks is, I always have to ask the pizza place that I eat at whether they made their sauce with meat, because that would be a no no. Luckily, around here, they don\'t on Ash Wednesday and on Fridays during Lent.
i went to sally\'s last night and wiped some black **** on my face accidentally... think god will accept that as a substitute?
I think you may be good dave... I think that if you believe in your heart that the burnt cornmeal is ashes, by dogmatic law, they will in fact be seen as ashes...
I guess I\'m alone on this one...
Appears to be and there is nothing wrong with that. Too each their own faith.
I have no problem with being alone on this one...
now...us meeting at sally\'s on ash wednesday and smearing cormeal ashes on ourselves could become a "tradition",
Then someone has to get double ashes for me.

i think you\'re onto something here duane...
as long as it doesn\'t evolve into something resembling faith.....i\'m in!
So this is why, when I went to the local deli and ordered a fat steak and chee sub, some ugly
**** with
**** on her forehead gave me an evil look... Who knew?
i don\'t even eat red meat but i\'d consider doing it today just out of spite.
Didn\'t mean to start a holy war...again.
that\'s cause the
**** on your forhead looked different from hers :duck:
i\'m currently eating two types of meat.
AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!
also, nothing on my forehead, i bathe.
but don\'t worry about me. i wasn\'t baptized, so all these silly rules and stuff don\'t apply to me. i get to go to the heaven of my choosing!!
Just want to get a sense and see I\'m the only one still following tradition:
- Is anyone getting ashes today
- Is anyone fasting today
- Is anyone abstaining from eating meat today
*raising and waving hand*
I did and are doing all three today. thats what 14 years of catholic school does to ya. BRAINWASHES you.

and i\'ll add, lent rocks cause i get pizza every friday.
I only had 4, but I lived with my grandmother for 8 years who is off the boat Italian and basically the pillar of the church. At least I didn\'t go the way of my cousin; he was a Franciscan Brother for a while...

Yeah, i had K-8 at one school, all 4 years of high school, and i even went one year to a catholic college. And then somehow i broke loose;)
And i know how you feel with the grandmother. Except mine is Irish

i was raised by mine. Let\'s just say our house was interesting, she has a framed photo of the pope in her bedroom. And a giant crucifix in the hallway. And little religious statues around the house.......while my grandfather, he prayed to the god of baseball
We bought my wife\'s grandparent\'s house and there was statues, crosses and a picture of JFK in basically every room. Now there\'s a cross in the kitchen, and the bedrooms with a statue of mary outside.
