We had deep dish in Chicago the other night, it\'s my fave. I\'m always up for awesome regional pizza, though. I\'ve never had an official half-yard, either...you guys need to show me what\'s up.
I still haven\'t tried a bona fide Chicago deep dish, New Haven pizza (I\'ve only had Staven pizza), or a half-yard.
Well then Alex, you\'ll have to fly in to Chitown sometime and I\'ll buy you deep dish, then we can head East.
June 17th would be a perfect time to head East.
Perfect show celebration, yes.
Perfect time of year, yes.
Perfect timing, no.
I\'m getting some reconstructive foot surgery on May 31st - I have to take 2 weeks off of work to recover. There\'s no way I could get 2 more days off to go hobbling around the country in a surgical boot.

you
could....

I humbly withdraw my puking guy. I didn\'t know you were in deep dish country. A very heavy pie, but good none the less. I like Unos on occasion, but I\'m sure it\'s nothing compaired to the real unos in chitown. I though you were further inland where pizzahut and dominoes are considered quality pies (shudder).
I think we accidentally left some pot on the nightstand, but hey, the room wasn\'t in my name and now the maid gets an extra tip
i have been a housekeeper at an inn and been rewarded in that manner! so awesome! they even left us the end of a really good pack of papers! and it was a beautiful day, too! and the inn overlooks mountains! i clearly need not saw more : )
sarah you are so enthusiastic. i like it. fan!!!
:sigh: You gotta come up to New England and learn how to have LATE NIGHT!!!!!
:that: and additionaly deep dish is NOT pizza it is some mutant inbred off shoot of what pizza actually is. it\'s tasty but it is NOT pizza
I\'ve had pizza all over the world, and that\'s what everyone everywhere says about their own.

well, if you consider an apizza is technically a dough with sauce, and cheese, with the possibility of additional \'toppings\', it is a pie. You might have an argument in that I think a deep dish uses a pie crust of some kind for the dough(?) as opposed to just rolling real dough.
That being said, according to my definition, a white pie would not be an apizza, and neither would a red pie with garlic! ah, screw it. Chitown, nyc, new haven, neopolitan, sicilian, It\'s all good (except greek - cound never get into that), but the most important part is that sallys is the best. As long as you like sallys, your OK in my book. Also, exceptions are made for matt vallo, even though he has horrible taste in pizza.
<<< Still likes my own homemade pizza better than almost all pies I\'ve had in my lifetime...which btw is quite a LOT!!!! Mine is not no skimpy ass thin doughed, barely any sauce and cheese ripoff!!!! I make my own dough. If I have the time for it, my own sauce. LOTS of cheese, toppings (usually meat of some sort) and a proprietary blend of herbs and spices!!!!
Just the other night Robyn and I had a pizza at Blues Pizza in Hamden (thanks Mark!!!) they put honey on the crust!!! Will be trying that on my next one for sure!!!
Ok, sorry for the thread highjack!!! Back to the shenanigans!!! Any weird late night contests out in Chitown???
Well, the unofficial contest was "who\'s the most
**** up?" I say Gencs hands down. I was a little drunk after draining several pints of Guinness at the bars, but Gencs was dosed, high, and drunk. He also wins the "I had the most fun in Chitown" award, with me as the runner-up.

I think Tim was the most sober out of the 5 of us!

it was wonderful, really. i worked with sarah! there were lots of cleaning fumes and hospital corners with sheets, it was hard. and NOW across the street there is a granite statue that looks like a dragon. behind it there is a mountain with trails. it\'s incredible, we need to go back at some point- ride the dragon, fences be damned!
