Agreed. And the guy looked totally creepy.

yeah i guess not.
my brain has been immersed in microbiology for too long. but a shooting in a bookstore in the middle of the day is pretty brutal/scary.

It was a wierd surreal scene at Wesleyan.....I had just hit the record button on the first band, they announced who they were, and then never started as security was suddenly all over the place, and that was it..not a musical note, the show was stopped..Michael Ross, the President of Wesleyan, came out on stage after a little confusion and said that there had been a shooting involving a student and asked the partying crowd of a few hundred to please leave the hill and go back to their dorms immediatly so the police could sweep the hill/concert area because the suspect was still at large and possibly on the school property, the shooting happening in the Wesleyan Bookstore .... the crowd did as he said and were gone in a few minutes and the cops and security swept the area...they left me and another taper named Dave alone as we packed up as they swept by ....I knew the sound company guys, ACE music, so we hung with them under the canopy at the sbd, had a beer and waited to see what was going to happen, if the show was going to go on.....so we waited, at about 3:00PM the sounds guys were told to pack it up, show cancelled...they bands got paid, but not a note was played...it was the strangest thing that has ever happened to me at a show...I felt really band for the students whose senior big blow out weekend was nixed, but I didn\'t realize until I got home that the girl actually died..all wery sad indeed....

Why is the media listing a possible anti-semitic motive? Because there is an actual basis or more simply the school has a decent Jewish population and there is nothing else to do but speculate and make people scared so they will watch more news?

I heard, and again this is the rumor in the news, that he had written things about killing people at the school in his personal journals. Included in those journals were some derogoratory comments/threats regarding Jewish people as well.
