Fire at Bar in New Haven

(New Haven-WTNH, Feb. 9, 2006 Updated 5:03 PM) _ Firefighters are on the scene of a fire at the "Bar" restaurant.

Firefighters could be seen on the roof of the building on Crown Street poking holes in the roof. The fire chief tells News Channel 8 this has been a "labor intensive fire" to fight.

The fire was reported around 3:00 p.m. when employees smelled smoke.

There was no severe structural damage to the building, but there is water damage.

Crown Street remains closed right now between College and High Streets.

The fire may have started in a second floor storage area, but it\'s not clear yet how the fire started.

There are no reports of injuries.

BAR Timmy gigs have been moved to my garage. My mom makes a mean homemade Za and my fridge is always stocked with LT...

That sucks. Hope it\'s fixed up by my birthday gig... I have till the 27th though, so I guess that should be enough time.

Wow that was selfish.

Rewrite: I hope everyone is ok, the damage isn\'t too extensive, and Tim still gets to play his gig Monday if there was supposed to be one.

holy crap that sucks! lets hope the pizza oven is still in good shape and they get that mess cleaned up quickly.

todd, how about another hotel tka show in the near future? tim now has 2 more nights off a week until breakfast goes on tour, so thats going to be pretty rough for him.

I have a pizza stone and have been praised on my pizza making skills--I toss the dough and all! (I wont toss my salad for you though)...We should get a solo show up here in North Western CT...That sucks about BAR..I had a good time with everyone on 2-3-06. Hope all is well with everyone
