I felt bad for the woman who had to get up and read after Chris!  She looked a little nervous and started out by saying "that is a hard act to follow".  He definitely stole the show.
That woman almost put us to sleep!!!

The reading was an abridged version of the written paper. I didn\'t read it yet and now I can\'t find it on my computer. (Just added two new drives and moved things around, so I could find things easier....so much for that one!!:banghead:

Hey Pitchy...can you send it to me again please! todd at tkaphotos dot com...thanks in advance!!!

No problem Todd. And just so people know, I cut two brief passages of dialogue (from "chicken dinner again" to "and every time you hammer down at least five pieces" and from "t\'sup bub?" to "must be the next door over. I\'ll go knock.") to try to get down to the 15 minutes we were supposed to limit ourselves to. I also did not read the part about Tic-Tac\'s, which I actually added after I submitted it and was not part of the story the judge graded me on. I\'m unsure if I\'m gonna keep that section when I seek publication over the summer.

Had I known two other people would eclipse the 20-minute mark, I would never have cut, and believe me, I\'ll never do it again. But I\'m not complaining. I wouldn\'t trade the performance for anything.

For the record, I timed out at 17:10.

Congrats Chris Pitch!!!

For those of you who went to Pitchie\'s last reading, I\'m sure you know he puts on quite a performance.  He will be giving a reading again next month.  Here are the details for anyone who wants to attend:

Chris Piccirillo and his good friend Kevin Ross will be performing the comedic one-act play they co-wrote at this year\'s release party for Folio, Southern Connecticut State University\'s annual literary anthology. The play is entitled, "The Perfect Schedule or Chris Piccirillo Isn\'t Even Trying Yet." Chris plays himself and Kevin plays his conscience. The play was the lone one accepted to Folio and their performance will be an additional one to go with those who will be reading the acceptances that placed in Folio\'s fiction and poetry contests.

The event is at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 4 in the Grand Ballroom, which is located on the third floor of Southern\'s Student Center. More specific directions to follow.

Chris also has a creative non-fiction piece called "She Thinks I\'m Her Uncle" in Folio, marking the first time he\'s had something other than poetry accepted to the anthology, having previously had three poems published.

Congrats Chris Pitch!!!

Thank you for posting this Cori! Kevin and I cannot wait to perform the piece, which we originally did for my theatre class last year. We hope to see a solid turnout of our peeps. There will be several talented writers reading at Southern that night.

I\'d also like to congratulate Cori for having her fictional piece "Merry Freakin\' Christmas" earn publication in Folio. It\'s very funny and was a well-deserved acceptance.

Congrats Chris Pitch!!!

Well, I figured this was time for a little bump-a-rooski.

So, Kevin Ross and I are still performing our one-act play, The Perfect Schedule or Chris Piccirillo Isn\'t Even Trying Yet, as part of the release party for Folio, S.C.S.U.\'s annual literary anthology, this Friday at 7 p.m. on the third floor of the Adanti Student Center, which is located on the corner of Fitch and Crescent Street in New Haven. Whereas the event was originally going to be in the Grand Ballroom, it will now be in the Fireplace Lounge, which is the area that you will see as soon as you get to the third floor.

Kevin and I are going first, and although these events typically start at around 7:15, anyone who wants to see the two of us should plan on getting there a few minutes before 7 just to be safe. After us, the winners of Folio\'s poetry and fiction contests will be reading, which I expect to be some fine material, considering the authors.

Anyway, for those who don\'t know how to get to Southern, here\'s some directions:

get onto dixwell and take a right onto arch street if youre going towards new haven or a left onto arch street if youre coming from new haven. you then take a slight left onto fitch st. and continue until you have to take a left onto crescent. you will see the student center on your left at this point, and after you take that left onto crescent, you take a quick left into the parking lot for the student center. walk into the building and go up the stairs to the third floor.

just in case, here\'s a link for a map of southern: http://www.southernct.edu/aboutscsu/map/

and also just in case, the official address for southern is 501 crescent street, 06515.

We\'ve been rehearsing. We hope to see some of you there.

Chris

Just want to take this time to thank Ken--of Breakfast videography lore--for being so kind as to tape Friday\'s performance, as well as Dave for agreeing to take some photos. Word.
