Sorry I missed Cori\'s reading of her story. But we had a keg to pick up and get back home.
Stevie...I have a copy of Ken\'s dvd for you.
I asked Cori at the reading if she was gonna be reading her story and she said she wasn\'t going to be reading her piece there.....I read it in the Folio there and thought it was very good.....
Thanks for the copy Todd....
Coris\' story is great. I read it back when she first wrote it. She told me she had no plans of reading but was kind of recruited by one of her friends from class to read so she did. She sounded bummed though because she said all the b\'fast fans had already left by that time.
Chris, even better than I thought it would be. Bravo.
Chris... just watched your play... Wish I could have been there to see it in person. You did a wonderful job.
make sure even if you watch it here that you head over to youtube and leave a rating and a comment.

Well sorrrrryyyyy. I watched it on MySpace, and thus didn\'t notice that instruction here. Jerkface.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I?ll be reading as part of edition No. 367 of Beatnik 2000, a weekly series that primarily features performance poetry at New Haven?s Caf? Nine, on Monday, June 4.
I?ll be reading three pieces, and though time constraints will not allow me to do any proper fiction or the one-act play, I will nonetheless be performing a poem, a completely ridiculous short story, and most likely, a rap comprised entirely of palindromes. I just did open mic at Caf? Nine the other day, and based on the scene, it seems a place like this allows me to read, how do I say, some of my more ?experimental? material. Anyway, I?ve read all three of these pieces before at some point.
Start time will be at approximately 10 p.m. Admission is nil.
Hope to see some heads.
Chris
Well, I guess instead of performing my palindrome rap, I can just do my spoken word rendition of "I Lost on Jeopardy."
rotfl. ah, either way i\'m sure it\'s great. als is just a rip on dylans homesick blues. not really a rap. Cori made cafe 9 sound pretty serdonkulous. I\'m sure whatever you guys throw at them is going to be better than they have normally.
i just watched the video. awesome job, chris. supremely funny. as always, i\'m very proud of you.
Just wanted to remind everyone that I\'ll be reading words off paper, tomorrow at Cafe Nine, 10-ish.
Well, last night turned out to be a somewhat raucous occasion at Cafe Nine and that was surely fine by me. I\'m not really used to reading in a bar atmosphere and consequently I was even louder than usual, which is no lean feat. I also think it\'s fair to say that my choice of material and intake of Crown Royal played a role in the volume as well. And may I say my gang of goons were equally loud and that\'s much appreciated. Special thanks to none other than Tim Palmieri for video taping last night\'s performance. I\'m gonna work on getting it on youtube this week.
For the record, I read "Big Joe Pitch," a poem about my father; "Whaddup Motherfucker?" a highly inane short story; and "Oozy Rat in a Sanitary Zoo," a rap comprised entirely of palindromes, which for some reason, I felt compelled to read twice, one right after the other.
As always, it was an evening of madcap and mischief and we took the party from the Niner to Justin\'s studio and then to a diner in New Haven where there were nearly a dozen people bumping and grinding by their cars with music blaring at like four in the morning. It was the closest thing I\'ve seen to a Club MTV dance party since Downtown Julie Brown rocked my middle school world.
Anyway, thanks again gang! Wubba Wubba Wubba!
Sorry we missed it! Pool nights are tough.
Nice, Pitchy! Glad it went well.
So, on Monday, Sept. 17 at New Haven\'s Caf? Nine, I will attempt my debut at stand-up comedy. I was originally slated to do it this week, but rescheduled for a variety of reasons. So at approximately 10 p.m., I will take the stage and hope to put together a series of words that evoke laughter or nausea from the crowd. Either way. I will bump this thread a few times in the weeks leading up. Hope to see a few come down. Admission is zero.
If you can reduce the admission charge, I should be there!
Just wanted to remind everyone that this Monday at 10 p.m. at Caf? Nine I will make a fool of myself as I dive face first into the world of stand-up comedy. Oh dear.
Aww... wish I could be there! Good luck!
