Hey folks. I\'m looking for a bit of advice on Christmas gifts.
- I drew my cousin\'s name in the family Secret Santa. His wife suggested a couple of CDs. He is really big into Coldplay (ugh, I know...). I figure if I have to get him something like that, I should at least find him something that he hasn\'t heard of. Any suggestions? I\'m leaving toward Wilco right now out of desperation.
- What is a good website/store to get somebody a gift certificate for golf accessories? My father wants a specific club (I have it written down somewhere), but I know jack
**** about golf, and would rather give him a gift certificate than get the wrong thing.
Any help from you Coldplay-listening, plaid shorts and collar-shirt wearing, golf bag-toting motherfuckers would be appreciated.
RE: Golf
Does your dad play at a course all the time or is he a member to a country club ?
My sister called the pro-shop at my dads country club last year and they were WAY more than helpful about doing a gift certificate / store credit for him.
how about some radiohead? One of my friends top 3 bands are u2, radiohead, coldplay.
Or better yet, some real radio and a slap upside the head for not owning it already?
If he thinks Coldplay are good, he will DEFINITELY not get or appreciate Wilco. U2 or Radiohead would be safe bets, but he\'ll probably have them. What about late era Floyd, but the same "already has" caveat will apply.
Sorry I can\'t offer any more than that - after all, I\'m a Brit and I think Coldplay are now a lousy band, U2 patchy at best, and Radiohead an over-rated bunch of tossers!!
i like Coldplay. their new cd blows, but their first one i likes a lot. great on a snowy day when im feeling lazy.
buy him a
**** apple and say, "Here\'s Chris Martin\'s child." cheapest present EVER.
:that: I\'d agree with you wholeheartedly - first album was a classic - all since then pales in comparison.
maybe "grace" by jeff buckley.
its emotive rock that is all about the singing. i think coldplay fans would like it.
