hey folks.. just wanted to check in while i have a minute at work.. been a while since i\'ve been on, and i have a lot of catching up to do.. the past week and a half have been among the busiest i\'ve ever been involved in, but it\'s all gonna be worth it in about a month - lisa and i just bought a house!
been looking casually for about 6 months or so, but nothing has really done it for us.. we were eyeing this house online for a couple weeks - really nice, but a little out of our range.. then they dropped the price $10k, and had an open house last sunday (3/21).. we went, and absolutely fell in love with the place.. it was our first open house, and the house is just perfect for us. we knew that if we wanted it, we\'d have to act quick, so that was it. right into high gear, no looking back.
we put in a bid last monday, which was countered, but we put in a second offer on tuesday morning which was accepted. the only stipulation is something called a hubbard clause - basically says all our equity is in our condo, so we don\'t have to buy the house unless we sell the condo in X (30?) days. at the same time, they can still show the house, and if someone else puts in an offer on it, we have 3 days to
**** or get off the pot.. luckily, or condos are in very high demand, and usually don\'t last on the market for more than a week! they\'re also selling for around $60k more than what we paid...
so our condo officially went on the market last thursday, and we had an open house on sunday. but to prep for the open house, we had TONS of cleaning to do.. spent all last week cleaning the BALLS out of the condo, and late saturday night, were finally ready for the open house..
more good news - had about 15 people show up for the open house, and had 3 offers on the condo by yesterday, with one more showing last night.. so we\'re having everyone put in their best offer by 5pm today, and then going from there.. both closings (on the condo and the house) will be on the same day, and with any luck, that\'ll be April 30th!

so like i said, just wanted to check in and say hi.. things should be back to normal soon - work life has been just about as busy as home life, but hopefully the condo will be sold by tomorrow, and things will simmer down for a few weeks until it\'s time to move... would love to have the place ready in time for cafe 9 afterparty, but we\'ll have to wait for the next CT show for that..
