I just don\'t get peoples fascination with this kind of thing. I don\'t mean the death, but the concept of celebrity in general. I mean, if I like a writer, director, actor, musician, sports figure, etc, etc, etc, I admit I do look for other things they do. If I liked one movie by someone, I might like another one, and if I liked two, I might like a lot of things they are in. I mean, I love Morgan Freeman, I don\'t think I\'ve ever not liked him in any of the rolls he\'s taken on, plus he has a great narration voice. Still, I could care less if he is married, has a drug overdose or anything else. Really; how does this impact your life? Maybe he wont make any more movies and then I\'d be missing out on something, but other than that, why the hell should I care? Shows like Access Hollywood, or magazines like the National Enquirer, I just don\'t get it. As if that is not enough, the news will cover this like there is nothing else going on in the world for weeks now. The only saving grace here is it gives them a second story to break up an astronaut wanted for murder. So, there\'s nothing else going on in the world? No WARS to report on? No drastic changes in the environment, letter bombs in britain, nuclear developments in north korea? No, we get this crap and stories about a miracle weight loss pill that is now available over the counter so you can keep shoveling food into your fat american face and striving towards a six-pack stomach while filling your hummers with gasoline refined from oil coming from a country you are at war with and complaining about the current administrations problems but not even bothering to protest against them if you hate them so much, or better yet, getting behind some of the candidates that are starting to push towards running to become their replacements. No, you\'d rather stand around the water cooler and discuss why some grave robber died; pills or depression. The priorities of this countries general population depresses the hell out of me sometimes.
