hopsickle was a blunt sledgehammer of hops on the tongue. i didn\'t care much for it (although i was trying it when i wanted a hopslam, which is truly the nectar of the gods!), but it wasn\'t horrible.  for good, basic ipa\'s, try great divide, lagunitas (although their maximus is pretty intense, too), stone, avery (maharajah (which isn\'t their basic ipa) is the best beer out there, in my not-so humble opinion), bell\'s, racer 5, hell.... i could go on and on... let\'s leave it at this, next jan/feb, when bell\'s hopslam gets released, MAKE SURE you get yourself a case and horde it!!! it was a struggle to find, since so many know about its greatness, but it is SO worth it!!! we had a case for my bachelor patry and pretty much killed it on night one, on top of $150 of other beers (this doesn\'t include our bar tabs, just our at-home drinkng)... and at 10% abv, there were some seriouslydrunk and happy people at our place!!

When I\'m out I really don\'t drink anything but Guinness.  When at home, I don\'t drink anything other than my own home brewed stout.  That\'s just me.

if you want a change, try north coast\'s old rasputin stout, bell\'s kalamazoo stout or victory\'s storm king stout.

that old rasputin will make your taste buds very very happy and the others will keep \'em smiling, too!!

Just released again yesterday for Craft Beer Week. Hopefully it makes its way to Syracuse in the next week or so.

Until then, I have a couple of these from 2006 and 2007 that I might have to bust out.

Hops Devil

Decent beer.

In honor of American Craft Beer Week, I am going to try to drink something OTHER than IPAs. It\'s getting kind of ridiculous; I have been seriously neglecting the other fine frosty beers.

In honor, I ventured from my usual Bud King Yellow and busted out the Sammy Oatmeal and Nut Brown last night.  Tasted great.

In general those guys, Rouge, have good beer.

Also, I\'m not sure if \'gansetts qualify as craft beer...but either way;

We went to the walnut brewery the other night and that was really good. there are still a few I want to go to...like mountain sun, red fish and avery. Let me know which ones you like. I think we are going to Brekenridge tonight but if not you can find us at one of these places.

Rogue does have great beer. The Dead Guy Ale is kind of boring to me (still good though) but I LOVE the Brutal Bitter and I think I have had a stout of their that was delicious.

Haa ha \'Gansett. I have a a pin on my winter jacket that I got at The Wheelhouse that has that very logo on it. I was sold at the "Hi, Neighbor!"

Massachutts Beers:

In central mass:
Wachusett Brewing Company (I recomend the Blackshack porter (my first beer) and their Nut Brown Ale)
South-eastern:
Buzard\'s Bay (Only thing that\'s good is their pilsner)

Western:
Everyone knows Berkshire and Opa-Opa but there is on in Chicopee called "High and Mighty - The Beer of the Gods"

It\'s worth it just for the box.

Rhode Island:
One Area Code
One Airport
One Beer
Newport Storm.
