didnt mean to start so much trouble. each set of kung fu on monday night was over an hour long, but they both felt like they went by in about 5 mins and 1am came way too fast. i just want more kung fu

if the money was going to a better charity it might get me in the door, but im not rich enough to be paying for musical theatre training for students or $20 for 45 minutes of music before going to the oakdale for trey. next year feed people who are starving to death and need food and medicine instead of paying the way for future broadway singers

Hey Chris,

I\'ll get right on that!  Both parts!  Would love to see Kung Fu do some full shows well longer than an hour and would love to keep throwing parties with a purpose!

....and might i add that the breakfast, kung fu and chris DeAngelis are mighty lucky to have such passionate fans!

I don\'t really think that\'s fair Fitzy.  There is always going to be a "more worthy cause" out there...it all depends on your perspective.  Have you ever attended a Black Rock Mardi Gras or met any of the beneficiaries? There are plenty of self-indulgent things the promoters could be doing with the money they collect.  They have chosen a charity near and dear to their hearts.  The festival has been doing this for 5 years now and I\'m sure there are some less fortunate people than us that will benefit from the generosity of Angel and crew.

Even if Kung Fu is the most talented act (completely subjective obviously), that is not the most important aspect here.  It\'s everybody coming out for a good cause.  If you don\'t feel like coming out, no one is forcing you.  No need to **** on something you don\'t know anything about.

I\'m sure its a great cause that will keep a few kids out of trouble nicknels. i was just expressing to LBoogie that i dont really care that this is a benefit show because they are providing the beneficiaries with a luxury rather than a necessity for survival. and only going for Kung Fu is not worth it to me for the price, but i would probably go anyway if the cash was going to something i cared to support. wasnt trying to be too much of an **** over anything besides the length of their set.

Fitz, you are one of the good ones.  I think we all agree we need more Kung Fu in the future.  Maybe a B\'fast and Kung Fu show at the Acoustic Cafe???

Personally, I am not going because there are too many people asking for charity and handouts these days. Its getting ridiculous.

The poor will always have their lot. Thats my answer to this 2010 The Year of Charity! Everyone gets a handout. Seems like I work to take care of everyone else.
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.

If charity doesn\'t come from the heart, then don\'t give.
I give because I\'m selfish & greedy.
I believe there is a law of the universe...
the more you give, the more you get.
If you cling & dwell on your money, something will come up & take it away anyhow.
Sickness, theft, business failures, stocks crumbling...
Giving to Haiti\'s needs shouldn\'t be a chore.
I\'m glad I\'m not there or any of my family.
If my few bucks feeds someone there for a few days, then my food tastes better.
If I don\'t give something, then my own food becomes poison.
I pick & choose my charities. Most asking for money I don\'t give to.
You do what you can, what feels proper.
If this Madi Gras event isn\'t your thing, then don\'t go.
Evidently, the people putting this event together feel it is worthwhile.
