How **** GREAT is the new album?
« on: »
Totally rhetorical.
Holy ****! Wow! Lethal Funk is right!
This album is a knockout! Uh did I say wow?
Not a bad track in the bunch.
Something for everyone if you like music.
If this is the quality these guys are putting out on disc, they can go FAR!!
Kudos Kung Fu you made an album to be proud of!
Worrying is like praying for something you don't want.

I grabbed a copy at vibes. Finally had a chance to listen to the whole album.

I\'m very impressed with the entire effort. The songs translate better live but that is to be expected.

See I feel the opposite. I think the conciseness of the songs is able to grab new listeners more readily than the improv heavy live versions. It really showcases how extremely talented this group is. It\'s an album you can put on at a party or in a mix and no one is going to get bored with some 10 minute improv.
It\'s variety is nice and it flows really well.

Give some glory to Matt Vallo who put many tedious hrs. into the recording production.
A low budget labor of love!

I don\'t how anyone can say "meh".

They are definitely better live, I will agree on that.
But the album deserves more than a meh.

On the whole, I agree with Leith.

It shouldn\'t be a competition between the live performance and the studio effort.  Both are different endevors.  The studio effort is a snapshot of where the band is now.  It is tight, well produced, and (prob most important for me) flows well from start to finish.  In a way it tells it\'s own story.  To me, the goal of Kung Fu is to aspire to be as tight in their live performance with their improvisation as they achieved in the studio.  I think their set at the vibes held to that standard.  Which reminds me, I need to find a recording of that set ;)

Cheers to Matt... a bang up job on the production bud!

Teds copy. I recommend his Janes Addiction recording as well. I downloaded the 4 versions on etree and IMHO it is the best one.

I really had a blast during their set. Perry is the MAN.
