...3 of my fav Breakfast songs in one show... I can\'t complain!
Sick lookin set!! Blessing in disguise I think might be blessing in the skies...could be wrong but I know its a dangle original. Good turnout?
Not a bad turnout. Typical Sully\'s crowd, elbow to elbow first set... second set a little more breathing room. As for the Dangle original your probably right on the name. I was stuck with a speaker blaring in my ear for the whole first set so I\'m not suprised if my auditory accuity was a bit thrown off. But you could see how one might mistake it....
The Breakfast is better than ever!!!
I thought the new chis song was blessing in disguise. or is it blessing in the skies? I am listen to the audio and can\'t tell. someone send chis a text to confirm this, thanks!
Abe Lesyng, Ian D\'Sciez
It\'s a song Chris wrote for two of his uncles.
A Blessing in the Skies = CONFIRMED
any show with metro and queeb is gonna be a good one. fun times last night. throw in a gladys>the other one and a debut and that\'s a hell of a show. i was getting a cream-y vibe from the new song. mmm creamy vibes. more rocky and less dancey than i prefer but that\'s usually the case.
Man what a show last night. Not sure if I enjoyed it more than the Church but it was pretty close. Seeing them at Sully\'s is always such a mindfvck.
Jam > Honey Butter was a great start. HB was technically unfinished as it segued into Doughboy from animal\'s drumming part at the end of HB, no final note. Blessing in the Skies was good too I thought, looking forward to hearing it again. It was cool to hear a LATG > Score, as I\'ve heard a couple Score > LATGs before. Metro was sick as usual
Gladys > Other One was pretty freakin nasty. I was hoping for Gladys and Queeb in set 2 and they were both sick. VT song - good.
And I like the Shotgun Butterfly tune. Straight up rocker, catchy, good closer I thought. I wasn\'t sure about it after the first time hearing it on NYE, but I definitely dig it. I thought they were saying "Circle of Life" on NYE, haha.
I hadn\'t heard LATG and OE since 5/16/09, so that was cool to get both this weekend, and not in their normal LATG > OE fashion. That 9 months felt like an eternity!
Overall a really fun weekend. Thanks Breakfast for doing your thing...... really freakin\' well! Great way to start out 2010. Ga ga goo ga ga, booyakasha.... word.
Nice recap Bill. Thanks for being one of our reporters in the field!
Def Blessing In The Skies.......Bummed that I missed out on the Breakfast this weekend. This had Textbook Classic Breakfast 2 Night Run written all over it from the gitgo.........and obviously, from the look of the two nights setlists, it was......
Tape-age?
Someone was taping it whether it was Matt V or this other older dude that I see at Sully\'s occaionally, think he\'s skiprince on here. Eitherway, looked like they were patched into the soundboard unless they had mics in some very hidden places. I didn\'t see any hanging from the ceiling or on the makeshift light rack where they normally are.
...and there it is, my 500th post!
