wow.  what a show.  an old friend i went to high school with happened to randomly end up at this show by accident and now she and the 5 friends she was there with are bona fide breakfast fans.  you may remember them as the ones dancing up front, tossing an imaginary ball around between them.  very funny to watch.  she came up to me after the show demanding that i send her a facebook message whenever they\'re playing anywhere near NY.  new fans=successful show.

I thought the new tunes were remarkable.  I think this incarnation of the band is really ready to take it to the next level, professionally, and i think that they\'re well on their way to being able to make that happen.  the vocals were MUCH tighter than they were one month ago, if i do say so myself.

another weird small world moment.  so like 5 or 6 years ago, i went to see coheed and cambria with my friend rob in this little club in nyack and he brought this girl with him, jill.  cool girl and everything, but didn\'t really see much of her again until we ended up going to college together.  a few years after leaving college, our paths ended up crossing again in another context, and now it\'s been a couple years since i\'ve seen her.  so last night, who\'s at the show?  fuckin jill!  and why is she there?  matt is her cousin!

weird.

Haha, that\'s spooky!  Or would that be called fate?

I know what you mean about the vocals.  The harmony is back!

I agree about the vocal jams... they just don\'t hold my interest enough to happen at seemingly every show. I liked them better when they were just the occasional intro to Superfly.

Seeing two new original tunes on the setlist definitely makes me even more pumped to go to Daniel St. in a few hours.

Also, just a hunch, but I wouldn\'t be shocked if the first eight songs of that setlist are (approximately) the next Breakfast album.

Last night was an insane night of music - the new tunes are a lot of fun!  I really enjoyed Reel Time - it was upbeat and Synergy got pretty, er..."jammy", in the middle of the song, which was really cool too!  I\'ll have to listen to both songs again for a final decision, but they fit the new band\'s style and are definite going to be crowd favorites.

Rush on electric is WOW. That is all.  Tunage was also great last night, and for everyone against the vocal jams, it would have been different if you were AT the show - it fit perfectly... no complaints here.  Well, the only complaint was for Dig... I could have done without it completely.  I mean, it\'s a great song and cute, but, really? c\'mon...  All in all, a great night, though & it makes me so excited for the future!

great, i\'ll add to your randomness. she was outside the club next door with two of her friends and there was a huge line and those obnoxious security gaurds yelling at the crowd. one of her guy friends pointed to sullivan\'s and asked me "is this show any good?" i said, "**** yeah, it\'ll change your life." i saw them 10 minutes later in the front row, and they couldn\'t stop thanking me for being right.
