from the water street site:

The Sim Redmond Band\'s airy, bouncing root/ afro-Carribe/ reggae music comes together in a colorful almost dreamy sound. Their music oozes over your brain like a comforting blanket, with its sunny sound and earthy rhythms. Bubbling bass and drums will put you in a trance while sparkling guitar opens your mind to the peaceful ambiance the Sim Redmond Band creates. This Ithaca, NY-based band may feature the worldly sounds of West and South Africa but vocally they have a folk sound that explores truth, dreams and love.

saw sim redmond open for moe. back in 01.... wasn\'t that impressed. Wish they were opening for b-fast, but whatever. Water st. is a cool venue, maybe I\'ll go anyway. And yes, mezzanotte on 9/22 would be SUUUUUweeet

Interesting.

Have never been to this venue but I understand this is the smaller club of the two. Anyone seen a show at Water Street?
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.

If this is at the "club" at water st., I have no idea what that\'s about. Maybe they just added it. I didn\'t know this place had two rooms in the same place (a la higher ground). I saw The New Deal at the "main stage" at Water Street Music Hall in 03 and 05 and I had a blast. Great sound, and you can get really close to the band.

The Club might be new. It only holds a couple hundred. I noticed that there were some big acts who played the Main Stage.

The Club at the Water Street is approximately 2200 sq. feet of open space with a multi-tiered balcony that wraps around the room. It is a unique room offering an intimate setting of standing room or table seating. The 20 foot, spacious bar came from an old church and offers a view of the stage, while the back of the room has a hot/cold concession stand and espresso bar.

The Club at the Water Street is equipped with projectors and screens for support use from the main room for a live broadcast of that show, slides and/or video or sporting events. Capacity of the club is 350 standing including the balcony space. This room has been freshly remodeled and can be used as a dining area for private parties.

this show falls on brittany\'s bday so we will def make the trip out for this one. might have to do a drive bye since she has to work at 7:00am the next morning. hopefully an ithaca or cuse show pops up the same weekend.

i\'ve seen a bunch of shows at the main stage; moe, mmw, sts9, bela flek, steve kimock, derek trucks. but ive never been to the club side before. website makes it sound like a cool venue with the balcony.

It should be a great weekend.
