whats it matter if its a dooze anyway? They\'re still gonna throw down no matter what. I kinda think they throw down even harder if there\'s less people to see it!

Anyway Mezzanotte does draw a good crowd for Breakfast on a good night. There should be 150+ people packed into a relatively small space there. Hopefully more.

it matters a lot of its a dooze.  granted, they play great regardless, but the def prefer playing to a packed crowd instead of a handful of heads.  maybe the show will be good either way, but a good crowd would be a lot better for everyone in the long run.

They always end up doing some out of this world **** at a DUZ!!! BUT, it would be better still if people were there to witness it!!!!!!!!

Todd you know what i\'m talking about. Doozies = crazy freakin music

Obviously its not good for the band but as a fan I definitely wouldn\'t decide not to go to a show on the basis that you think it won\'t be as good if its a smaller crowd. Actually it seems to me at the packed shows the band feels more pressure to "ROCK" which is cool, but I prefer the experimental/weird/unique shows

one thing about Breakfast--- they never serve up the same dish twice!
Put the pointed pencil in the pepper-po and take a little sniff of the things below. :sadban:

i have to say that i have certainly been dissapointed in some dooze shows, like where they decide to play one st instead of 2.  other than that, i agree i have seen some great shows where no one was at

I NEVER get upset about the decision to play one set over two!!! Why play a two short setter to just a few people? I\'d prefer a nice longish one setter!!!

I have seen my share of doozie shows, trust me... in the early days, there were several times I can remember sitting at a show with just me & freddiewaht in the crowd... If I\'m going to travel, however, I want to see the band in a situation where they will be in a good mood and really having fun...

Tickler, think you are going to go?

i totally agree w/ this.  Shows like Friday night and other past heady 1 setters proves it right.  more often than not, they take a late setbreak and only have time for an hour or less for the second set, so they might as well play 2 hours straight.

the last two night run at the mezzanotte (april, \'06) was fantastic. these shows are up on the archive if you want to check them out. i think they really like playing there as its a nice setting, cheap drinks, and always draws a pretty good crowd. the post-fongoulish freakout show at the mezzanotte was packed for the first set. some people left during the break to head downtown but those that stayed were nicely rewarded with music til 3:30 (it was daylight savings). i have already been spreading the word to friends. ill make sure to hit up the college town stores and streets when the students get back. they should have money after winter break so hopefully this will help attendance. lets try for a 2 night sell out!
