this show coincides with my autumn trip to waste haven to visit my old college buds, and its on the way!

is it a full length show?

(and by the way, WNHU 88.7 is also good non-commercial radio in CT.)

This will be a full length show, 8-midnight, 2 bands...and possibly a surprise guest between acts...in the works, more to come.

WNHU is great, as is a show we all know on WVOF! There are several good stations with good programming in the area...and on-line. What separates PKN is the overall station philososphy and the fact that they are 100% listener funded with no one looking over their shoulders. No money from a university, corporations, the govt., etc...it allows for a freedom that gives the programmer complete control that just doesn\'t happen at other stations. There are no playlists...so you hear a lot of music from the underground that you just don\'t hear other places, obscure stuff...and for the shows that are less eclectic in the sense that they are genre focused; blues, jazz, folk, zydecho, bluegrass, reggae, latin, etc...usually come with some people who are very knowledgeable about that area...they also have some alternative media/news programming and a lot of interesting guests. It\'s pretty amazing when you realize that these people are all volunteers and spend a lot of time just because they love the concept and doing radio. PKN is not for some, we don\'t focus on the lowest common denominator...we\'re not trying to please as many people as possible...if you do start to experiment with listening there tune in often at random times cause it\'s unformatted and there are a lot of different things, eventually you\'ll land on something you can\'t tune away from. OK...sorry about that...I get a little funny about it, cause of my involvement. It\'s definitely different, but there are good people doing radio other places too, just gotta poke around. But not at **** Clear Channel and the other mega-corps!

Actually, this will be running simultaneously on the screen there while the band plays...ok, maybe not...but something could be? Any thoughts?

what is the alcohol/inandout deal with this show? is it byob or is it totally a lot scene or what? also...BE AWARE..... the rt. 25 corridor leading up to the center of newtown is called "THE GAUNTLET" by the locals. many many many DWI\'s are handed out on this stretch of road. i cain\'t emphasize this enough.
