well, it says 27miles on 684 then 16 on 84 or something. then right off of 84 is the venue i guess. less than a mile according to Mapquest.

27miles on 684 from the Tapp.

If I were a Wallyrat looking to take back roads to Newtown I\'d go Rt. 42 to Rt. 67, then jump on 84 for a couple of exits

15>691>84 to exit 11 is definitely the most time efficient. Most of the back roads don\'t cut the way you need them to. You\'ll be through Waterbury on 84 by the time you could get to beacon Falls on 42.

Sometimes getting through Waterbury is just plain ugly. I got caught there once for 2 years, but that\'s a different story.

Some people just don\'t like driving the highways.
