So, the only house I\'ve found so far that is available is $3500/ week plus $500 security deposit. We would have to rent it for a whole week Sunday to Sunday. 3 queen beds but looks like plenty of room for air mattresses as well. If 8-10 people were definitely in it wouldn\'t be a far fetched idea......

I\'d be in for that.  You keep me posted.  I\'ll even serve up pancakes & bacon one morning.

Stephen\'s Cottage (Air Conditioned)

This cute intimate air conditioned cottage offers a bedroom with a queen sized bed, full bath and fully equipped kitchen. The combination living room and a kitchen offers a gas stove, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, flatware, utensils, dishes, pots and pans and a TV. The front room has a trundle bed that opens into a king or two single beds. The trundle doubles as a couch. Table seating for four persons. A small deck on the front of the cottage leads to a large yard with a picnic table and BBQ grill.

2007 Rates - Saturday Rotation:

June 16 to Sept 15 = $1,400.00 per week

Kinda ghetto, but cheaper (10 people = $140 each)... looks like a shack, but if we trash it, it probably wouldn\'t be a problem! Bring sleeping bags & lots of pillows ;)

i hate this smilie, but :that:

i don\'t think we\'re going to find something ideal by looking at houses to rent. it seems like that is definitely a pretty expensive route..i also kind of want to find a place where i don\'t have to camp out on a floor...

that being said, does anyone want to bunk up/look into sharing a hotel room with me? i\'m talking about sharing a room with ONE OTHER PERSON. i don\'t want to have 10 people in my room (i would actually like to get sleep while on the island). joce?

Yeah I would definitely be into that... though I may bring Jon or someone with me. But 3 is reasonable if we have two beds.

The other thing is I am probably bringing Sadiedog with me, so I don\'t know if that affects whether or not you would want to stay with me.

I spent about an hour a few days ago looking on the internet for a decent hotel which either allows pets or looks easy to sneak pets into and couldn\'t find ****. Seems like the only places on the net are the really expensive ones. Not even any middle-of-the-road chain hotels to be found.

^^^ thats because there are non. it\'s all bed and breakfasts and houses and boat slips. you can walk from one side of the island to the other in a couple hours. if this ever happens again a house rental is in order.

any little cheap motels? those are usually pretty easy to get doggies into. really anything where I don\'t have to walk through a lobby to get to the room. and obviously most b&bs are out.

When I was browsing rentals earlier, I noticed that many places allowed "well-behaved dogs" but just required an additional security deposit... try visiting here.

I\'m down for house or hotey, but time\'s a wastin, as they say.  Here\'s my two cents, as it were:

We\'re all poor in our own way, but sometimes you have to make a sacrifice (ie: new wardrobe?  vacation/sick days?  food?) for something you really want (a double shot of Breakfast in summah!)

I respectfully (but strongly) suggest we get our act in gear and figure out:
1. Who\'s sharing a roomskie.
2. Who\'s making the phone call to reserve that roomskie.
3. Who\'s paying who-skie for the roomskie.

That being said, I am clearly down for #1.  I can complete task #2.  I need to fill in the who\'s and who-skie\'s on #3.
Holla.

PS: Jocelyn, I\'m allergic to doggies.  Sorry. :(
PPS: Boston crew: I\'ve got the wheels, so you know I\'ve got your back on transport, at least to the ferry, if not back home.

Weird; I was just thinking this morning that if I decided to come out for Block Island, I would prefer to bike down there from Mass.
