lifes tough when you are playing someone elses music.
the machine draw a way bigger crowd than the breakfast. i mean it sucks, but thats the facts.
first off a 3 alarm fire at an apartment building in New Haven draws a bigger crowd than then Breakfast...whats your point? Other than DSO, which is the first coverband to do something a bit more creative than just play covers, I cannot see why someone would want a coverband at their festival, even if it is a Pink Floyd coverband (and I have seen the Machine, and yes I do think they are quite amazing).....

it\'s all in the lights and the projector screens;)
I guess my whole fit was a knee-jerk reaction to the fact that the guy said he wasn\'t sure if The Breakfast were gonna be invited back.....I say
**** him and his stupid festival if they dont invite us back....And if they do....What a great time its gonna be in a wonderful environment run by such amazing and wonderful people
like i said, tons of people will go out to see the machine. if it was ethical to advertise a 3 alarm apt building fire at a festival, i\'ll bet we\'d see it. festival promoters want ticket sales. booking the machine ensures a certain number of ticket sales. that number is greater than the number of heads the breakfast will bring in. i\'m not saying i think the machine are better than the breakfast, that\'s simply untrue. if it came down to originality and musical merit, that would be wonderful, but that is not how the music business operates anymore. and it hasn\'t operated that way in a while. the machine = more ticket sales than the breakfast. that\'s all i\'m sayin.
I hear ya.......I hear ya.....see my previous post #49 in the thread.....
well, the festival still had enough names to bring in tickets. they said it was beyond their control on their myspace page. so either something happened with permits or somehting like that, or the festival promotion/organization was up to par because no tickets were purchased.

posting at the same time=weird.
is he suggesting that the breakfast weren\'t so graceful in handling this?
i think it\'s saying that the others "bowed out gracefully", rather than implying that "the
**** refused the offer to come back at a later date".
cancelling a fest for low ticket sales ... rough ... think long term, it takes a while to get a new festival off the ground.
I just dont\' think it was a great idea with all the "luxeries" they were providing that\'s gotta have something to do with it....

definitely. they wanted to bring in more money so they required everyone to buy food and included it in the admission. worst idea ever. they blew it for themselves.

very good point ... in good taste thought would be wait till after the festival to decide that though, you know? ... i mean cancelling on a bunch of bands less than 3wks before an event, you know in theory there\'s a lot of $ lost there (time=$), and who (fan or band) would commit to a 2nd attempt?
Sounds like an opportunity for a CT appearance to me!

:that: Of course, if we were going to be in VT Friday night, I wouldn\'t be rooting for CT!!!
