** with \'Stayin\' Alive\' (Bee Gees) teases.
Matt remained on stage after the show was over and played Madonna\'s \'Live To Tell\' quietly to close out the night.

good time last night, great to get out to a show again. May Fly was killer, it got a little weird.
**** show. Thanks everyone.

Indeed...hope everyone enjoyed the cake!
thanks to melissa for being in the clutch and driving to the show, thanks to the band for a fun evening. it was my first time seeing the 4piece and i am excited for more. highlights- hard luck was a great and strong opener, see the light was fun as always, and mayfly was nutty! it was fantastic seeing everyone, see you all at the freakout(s)
wow that see the light is freaky/funky!
No shock to me the PA overheated :wah:
Tim was out of control last night.
Whew! Can\'t wait to hear that beautiful, crazy build during the STL jam, silly, just silly. I bet the mic\'s going out pissed you off at 1st Dave, it annoyed me, but us all singing more than made up for it. Good "excuse" to play Cut Me Some Slack, haven\'t seen it probably since the Middle East Show, ya know where we refused to leave, and that was a WHILE ago, I doubt they wouldv\'e played it if not for the sound issue. Unless of course it was on the list. I\'m still not all that excited to see GBFB, um cuz I don\'t like it, but Adrian seemed to be like, "ok time to rip," and it was instantly great. Superfly was out fo conrtol, Matt tore it up, he actually looked like he was getting cues from Ron and watching the chords and just learing it right there, I don\'t understand how anyone can do that. The drum solo actually seemed to have a rhythm to it, which it always should but doesn\'t ever really seem to. I was hoping for maybe a Grand Scheme after it, but it didn\'t feel like it would happen. That\'s fine. The Mayfly once again proved to me how absolutely amazing these guys are. Everyone\'s playing was at the top of their potential (for now) as far as I\'m concerned. Matt was out of control. Tim was a nut. Adrain and Ron just killed it. I mumbled something to Jen as it was starting and that it was gonna be RRREEEEAAALLLY good, I had no idea that it would be that good though. I can\'t say enough. Some truly fantastic playing that was better than anything I\'ve seen in a really long time. I cannot wait to hear this one!
So, I think the guy who wouldn\'t stop blowing his little party favor noise maker thing made this "special" coffee cake, and it had been so long since eating food with something in it, I forgot how hard it could hit. My god. I actually had trouble sleeping. I was supposed to get up early to go out with Jen at like um...10 or something....sorry. Christ.....
^^
Special cake has the opposite effect on me apparently. I was playing Russian Roulette with my eyelids the whole drive home!
Just listened to the STL and I just got to say WAY TO STEP UP ON THE VOCALS PEOPLE!
That was awesome to hear.
I had so much fun last night!!! I\'m glad to have tomorrow off from work - I\'ll definitely need the recovery time
It was nice to see Osiris filled with such a great crowd & awesome music :awwyeah:
Hubinger Street and the George Lesiw band were also incredible (mind=blown re: Preston & his "new" antique bass!)
listening to hlh now. I am really loving all the reggae ish jams the band has been busting out of late
i enjoyed that a lot last night..
kind of a weird show. not the best breakfast show that i have seen, but a fun one. see the light was the definitely the highlight for me. singing/watching people sing the lyrics was pretty amusing. tim got a little scary during mayfly. maybe it was the cake.
it\'s unfortunate that this show was unable to reach its potential, because what we got was a blast.
the guys came out on fire, with a fantastic HLH > STL. the reggae breakdown was great. everyone i looked at in the beginning just nodded their head in confirmation like, "yep. this is gonna be a good one!".
the vocals cutting out during STL was actually fun, and we did a helluva job picking up the pieces. but the show took a bit of a turn once it was realized that it wouldn\'t be fixed, including playing a couple of songs that matt probably wasn\'t *quite* ready for. that said, it was great to hear both CMSS and SPF. GBFBITS i felt was a bit mediocre, although like brandon, i don\'t really like the tune to begin with.
i did think that they\'d use this mostly-instrumental opportunity to finish the scheme from the other night, but that didn\'t happen.
MFD was where it was at. dance party. excellent version. great way to end it.
as i said, it probably would have been mind-blowing to see this show at its full potential, however, i do believe that we got 110% from the band given the conditions.
