gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
fuckyerself!!

hey man, nice shot
^^^^ great pic, were any tapers in the house? find this on archive soon?
I for a fact was talking to the Webster "stage crew" after we played and they even said they where going to make sure each set was only 60 min long because they bar wasn\'t getting enough money....LAME...
That is such b.s. None of the music venues I frequent do that, regardless of the crowd size.
Why couldn\'t they let some of the staff go early and continue to sell drinks/rock?
Ugh. Stupid Webster.
**** that place.

Because the Webster sucks....
while the webster undoubtedly sucks, i\'ve been to shows where there just weren\'t enough people drinking enough to bother keeping the place open. hell, i\'ve worked at bars where i\'ve asked the "talent" to make the second set a long encore because there weren\'t enough people there and drinking to justify keeping the staff on. i\'m sure their insurance policy dictates their staff levels, so if there\'s not enough tickets sold and there\'s not enough booze sold to compensate for the lack of ticket sales, its not really worth it to them. its great and wonderful when the folks at the bar are getting into it as much as the crowd and don\'t mind taking a bit of a loss in order to enjoy the tunes, but its not always the case. and, knowing the general dickitude that is the webster, doesn\'t surprise me one bit.
so, the moral of the story is, even if you\'re on drugs, buy lots of alcohol at the bar.
that way, the bar will like the band and will want them back and make them headliners. hell, if you really wanna make the breakfast huge, it doesn\'t matter about promo, just have everyone at the show buy, like, 40-60 bucks worth of booze apiece, and club owners will be scrambling to book the band!
It\'s not like the place was THAT empty, and the bar didn\'t seem to be doing terrible business. I for one did my part and spent about 60 bucks even though I didn\'t get there until 11.... heh....
Bottom line: when you haven\'t even been inside and you already have to wait for the
**** ever so necessarily patting people down and giving them
**** for not taking even the money out of their pockets to have it examined for what i could assume obvious reasons, the place will most likely suck. I accidentally ordered the wrong drink and by the shady, mumbling, non-eye contact making, already annoyed bartender\'s little attitude that was also witnessed and commented on by people waiting for drinks, I think Walsh said something like, "
**** what\'d you do to get on her
**** list so fast?" you would\'ve thought that i ordered like ten drinks, spilled 3 of em and then gave her like 50 cents for a tip. Her annoyed sigh and nasty stare made it easy to decide which bartender to go to for the rest of the night. Goddamn, Happy and Rufus were insane! I mean nothing negative nor am I trying to take anything away from the "trio" but I can see Matt fitting in really well with all their playing styles. Todd\'s pic of Matt and Tim really did capture the moment as far as I\'m concerned. Looking forward to their return to the area.
newsflash, they pat down folks to make sure they dont bring in anything illegal, which also includes weapons.theyre doin their job.
I was hardly searched when I got there. Probably the first time ever. Also she didn\'t charge any of us a penny to get in.
Guess I didn\'t even need the tickets after all.
These clubs are businesses. They are there to make money. When it\'s no longer profitable to keep the club open, they want to shut it down asap. Toad\'s has out right turned the sound off on some bands. (hilarious, always).
Where the Webster sucks in this, is that you can\'t have a drink in front of the stage. This forces people to choose, drink selectively, or opt for other forms of intox. To a degree they
**** themselves and then take it out on the band/fans.
For the record I really enjoyed the first set. Thanks to Wah for getting me there.
I wonder if this will affect whether or not the Breakfast is able to get booked there again?
from the sound of it, seems like the webster may have taken a slight edge over the dying room for the crown of least popular breakfast venue. on an unrelated note, you new hampshire folk need to all get together somewhere and do some kind of anti-rain dance, is it ever not raining up there in may. . .
It\'s really miserable. It\'s supposed to be APRIL showers for goodness sake. I am sick of flooding, I am sick of teaching in the rain, I am sick of being damp and cold all of the time. Aahhhh!
The only upside of it is I have a really cool umbrella that I get to use.
