Yup...They brought in food and a keg for us and The Twin Cats (openers). I wish The Irving and The Twin Cats the best of luck and hope that we can work together again soon...
How/what were were the Twin Cats???
The Twin Cats were the opening band from Friday night. They are a 5 piece (guitar, bass, drums, keys, sax) from the Indy area and have been together for about 3 years. Their wasn\'t much singing, but their grooves will get a corpse shakin....
I\'m glad to see they didn\'t play queebs or psygn, they have been raging the
**** out of those tunes, all though it sounds like there was no one there anyways to know this
No, I asked for Psygn but I got a short Tricky Ways instead.
There was actually 25-30 people at this show.....
And they were all getting down, owned, face
****, and teeth kicked in.....
The intro to the Scheme will bring you all to your knees once the recording surfaces....
Thanks again to DavePec for securing Shawn Smith (taper) to come and record for us.....

kind feel bad since Kate and I had really tried to promote this show the best we could. again, the weekend was a tough one and from the sound of it the venue was still getting its feet wet. better luck next time. thanks again Kate for all the promo work. and of course, the crew at moe. who helped spread the word. if we have to do this one fan at a time, then so be it.

I hope my knees break. I been anxiously awaiting a recording to surface for the trio. I can\'t wait to hear what the sound is now that they have a few shows under there belt with this line-up.

The turnout was NOT due to lack of promotion.....It was a great effort and you nor Kate should be disappointed

And in classic Breakfast fasion they do and will continue to get better with every show....And actually what I have noticed with the current incarnation of The Breakfast is that they not only get better with every show, but each song in each show has been better than the song before........it is truly sick to watch and hear.....

it never occured to me until Friday night that the show was the same weekend as 10K lakes. not that it would have changed anything but that probably pulled the midwest kids away from their usual locale.

thats what its all about, IMO. To go to a show and see/hear the same show as last one, gets stale and boring after awhile. when the musicians have to go out and prove themselves to a crowd it makes it interesting. when new songs have to mold and old ones change, that what pulls me out.
Yeah im pretty excited to get my first helping of the newer breakfast. what you said gencs is how I thought it would be, these "first" shows must be great, watching how they recreate and improve. I bet this transistion will allow for new waters to be tread, sprarking new creativity and of course i\'m sure they will reap the benefits musically
Soooo DavePeck......when\'s that recording gonna surface?
It must have been strange going from 10k lakes to this place. I\'d like to see them play the Music Mill or the Vogue (it would be awesome to hear them open for MMW) next time they come to Indy. I asked around and no one I knew had any idea where the Irving Theater was.. But anyway, the music sounded great and the Breakfast never disapoint. Even though there were only and handfull of people there, they still put a lot of energy into the show. Hopefully they\'ll come to indianapolis again!
Lockley...Did I meet you at The Irving? I was the sweaty guy with the headband gettin down like a motherfucker mostly right up front infront of Adrian.....
Someone also mentioned that the boys should play a place called The Mouse Trap?

How is that place?
Could you imagine the jams if John Medeski were to sit in with the Breakfast?

? Holy Facemelter!!!!
Yeah, err.. I\'m not really sure if I met you, but I was gettin down too! I was actually the younger looking guy in the terrapin station shirt that was taking video\'s with a digital camera. I felt Privileged to be a part of that small crowd. I didn’t really know what to do after the show though because everyone went back stage and there was no one around to talk to! I thought it was cool that the band members were easily approachable though. That’s one of the things I like so much about seeing Garaj Mahal live. Yeah I would definitely like to here them jam with medeski, that would be SICK! They have the talent to play on a stage with someone like him. I really appreciate the fact that Tim was playing the keys and guitar, he sounded great, but I would love to see them hook up with a keyboardist that plays some in your face funky
**** on the Cavinet /Rhodes and possibly the moog synthesizer too. That shouldn\'t cause Tim to stop playin keys either you know...
