Listening to this show and you can hear the empty room.
The thing is the band CAN fill that space musically.
It amazes me that more people do not show up for these type shows.
 I mean if I had a chance to see this band in a large space (like this or Newton Town Hall) that was meant for music I would be so all over it. Every time!!!!

Oh and the jam from Psygn into Love Lake is some of the sickest ****!
I wish they had more jams like this.

I do not get the love for this first set really.  Sounds pretty standard until \'Psygn\', such a fantastic addition.  Pec is right on the $$ with his call on the \'Lake\' castrating an otherwise epic jam.  Horrible placement for a song that I really like having back in rotation.  The \'Score\' is ok, obviously the jam RAWKS, but you can really tell on disc that the composed section suffered due to the guest.  I happen to really love \'Score\', so maybe that is why I am a slight bit biased.  Not a big \'special guest\' fan unless they really know the music(i.e. Jedi or Cobb,etc).

Second set was a step up, but not that much.  I do not really care for the first 2 or so minutes of \'Honeybutter\', at all.  Once it gets slower and funky I enjoy it, but the beginning almost sounds like a bad April Fool\'s joke.  The "Butta,Butta, Butta" thing has GOT TO GO!!!  \'echidna\'s\' is solid, but \'NGNL\' is the leader on my short list of songs that should be shelved.

The HIGHlight of the night was \'Good Things\'>\'Queeb\'>\'Thump\'.  There isn\'t even a doubt here.  I have been dreaming of these two songs (GT & Queeb) getting together for a long time, perfection.  \'Good Things\' is one of the best "songs" Tim has ever written, hands down.  So mature in nature and sound, absolutely love it.  \'Buquebus\', while not as pumping as the last few, was a nice fresh take on the penultimate Breakfast classic.  \'Thump\' is just the icing on the cake, perfect placement...I would have been going NUTZ!

First set = c-
Second Set=  b+(only for the last triplet)
Overall= C+

I think that some of these "reviews" are way too overshadowed by the good times that everyone has at Breakfast shows.  Even the boys can have an off night, FLAME AWAY!

i\'m gonna have to agree with leith on this one, i LOVE the transition into love lake. while it may have not been an epic rager, i think it shows a level of maturity and beauty that the guys don\'t often get to show.it had a somewhat techno-y sound, but doesn\'t get reptitive or dull at all, in fact it draws me in every time! that being said, i also agree with walsh that this show wasn\'t a best ever by any means. not bad, just not great.

now 1/21/06, on the other hand....
