The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

I could see wanting to hear Psygn more than Eppy 3.  Psygn has been getting more and more amazing with every performance and is now very polished compared to Eppy 3 which is very new compared to Psygn.  Psygn, for me has now passed a huge crowd favorite, and moved into 3rd in my top 5 Faves:

1.Buquebus
2.Mooboo\'s
3.Psygn
4.Rufus
5.Beef Barley

Dropping off list: 6. tGSoT

Beef Barley came outta nowhere in the last 5 or 6 months to get back in my top 5!!!

Psygn is the real deal.  its a new style of breakfast, almost starting a new era for them.  the Philly and Southbridge Psygns were both unreal.

I am talking about Top 5 songs for me the way they are being played, i know I will take some flames here;BUT tGSoT, for me needs to be opened up and explored alittle to gain my attention again.  Ser, if you take a look back at my top 5 it is pretty obvious the pattern that appears...huge improvisational jam monsters.  I am waiting for the "Grand" in tGSoT, so to speak.  Turn it into The Boy\'s "Dark Star" or "YEM", or on a more personal fave note, "Basis For a Day"(tDB).  I have talked to Ron about this outside the PH this summer and he said it would take an entire dismantling of the main theme in a live setting to do it, which I replied "HELL YES!!!".

I get so excited when there is debate about actual Breakfast songs, shows, etc happens on this site.

interesting thought.. i could see possibly getting to that point in the far future, but i just saw my first Scheme so theres quite a discrepancy of opinion here.

I\'m totally w/ you, Walsh.  Everytime you see Scheme, you basically know what you are getting, great yes, but more or less similar everytime.  I\'ve seen like 4 Psygns now and each jam has been entirely unique and outrageous.  Makes me wanna see what they can pull out of it next time around, ya know?

I was not that impressed with psygn at beardslee.

It was good but no where near songs like rufus, scheme, queb.

Maybe it wasnt the best version but it deffinitly didnt knock my socks off thats for sure

This is how I feel exactly....The jam in Psygn is nuts.  I was talking to the merch guy in Minneapolis about this very fact....is he on this message board?  Anyway...tgsot is a great song for the simple fact that it has every aspect of TB.  To me, it shows all their different influences and that is what I think is great about it.  Psygn is a better song than Epi3....just trust me.  If you dont agree then take another listen.
