I love this tune so much, prog rock jam madness!

In listening to some of the earliest versions, 8/23/01, 9/14/01, all the way up to 10/27/01, there is an intro to this tune that I love. If you listen to any of these versions you will hear this tunage. It seems like it was dropped after 10/27, at least I don't think any tapes circulate.

Does anyone know if this was originally part of the song?
