i would trust anything made by nec, but these days when you buy a dvd/cd burner its going to be obsolete long before it breaks. in jan \'04 i bought a single layer 8x dvd +/- rw drive for $200. I still have not even bought a blank dvd thats burned faster than 4x because of the price difference in media.

This drive has more features than you even need and its the cheapest thing out there. I am sure this thing will last you until its obsolete. and if it doesnt just buy another. comparable drives to this one are about $130 in stores, so even if you bought two you would be saving money.

I\'m at 90% - should be done after work. I\'ll leave mine open while I\'m in Denver this weekend, since no one will be using the computer anyways.

frankly i like 98 better than xp, but i had to upgrade to xp to run pro tools

ok, i finished! i will seed later on in the day,sorry, my computer needs to rest. but i have a couple questions:
1.) on the dvd are the songs split in 17 min. fragments or is that how i downloaded it?
2.) any thoughts on how the experts would arrange things on the dvd other than how it sets up when you drag the folder in?

do these questions make sense?...........................................

did you upgrade to xp service pack 2 and protools 6.7 yet? i just upgraded from 6.4/sp1 and it was a nightmare getting everything to work again.

not at all...

just drag the video_ts folder for each disc into nero sessions set as "dvd-video" and burn them.

this is confusing me. the songs are all tracked out according to the start of the song. There may be a bad track 2 on disc one that will bring you to the middle of gravity when scrolling through the tracks, but I think I had fixed that. Everything else should be fine.

All you should have to do is drag the content of the Video_TS folder into the Video_TS folder on a blank disc. Do that for both discs and you should be all set.

jim\'s probably confusing the .vob files with \'tracks\' (or chapters in this case)..

jim - that\'s just the way they\'re broken up on a dvd. when you play it, the chapter stops will line up with the songs...

hey guys........I have a little over 2 gigs downloaded already but it still says i\'m stuck at 6.9%???

The math just dosn\'t make any sense....
