Sorry dave - minimal love from these shores. Yes, he may be British and trying to be satirical, but I\'m not a great fan; the movie was OK for a pi**-take fof the UK political system, but the old TV series "Yes Minister" was WAAAAAY better. Guess I\'m getting too old to appreciate the childish humour.
If you want some really good British humour with an Asian, rather than pseudo-black slant (
****, can I say black on a chiefly US board?!), I can\'t recommend "Goodness Gracious Me" highly enough. It started off as a Radio 4 series then went to TV where it was almost as good - nothing ever improves when it goes to TV - cf The Goons and Hitch-hiker\'s Guide To The Galaxy - though GGM came pretty close over its 2 series and a couple of specials.
The cast is minimal - four principal with extras - and is written chiefly by the performers. Sanjeev Baskar and Meera Syal are genii. The show really picks on Asian stereotypes and says a lot about both the white and Asian communities. Sanjeev now has his own show - The Kumars At Number 42 and Syal\'s semi-autobiographical first novel, Anita and Me was made into a pretty good film along the lines of East Is East.
