meh.

tell me something, is this a \'tim\' song, or a breakfast song? breakfast song? cool. hasn\'t been played yet. :D

note: the movie is out, so i don\'t really think spoiler tags are necessary. if you haven\'t seen the movie, and don\'t want anything spoiled, wait until after you see it to read on. you\'ve been warned.

1.  Easily, far and away, without question the best of the new eppys.  Possibly better than or equal to Eppy 6, possibly equal to 4 and 5.  Will have to wait a few months and let it sink in before determining that.  But the fact that we\'re even mentioning it is

after one viewing, with almost no time to sink in, i have to go 2, 3, 1.. i thought this was very good though.

4.  Two crucial moments that weren\'t totally convincing: When Anakin swears himself to Palpatine and when Padme leaves him.  Decent enough lead-up to these events, but not all there in the moment.

agreed. anakin\'s turn to the dark side just seemed really forced when it actually happened. one minute he was fine, then it was \'you are my master\'..

5.  Action scenes left little to be desired.

big disagreement here.. i thought they were great. general grievous was absolutely **** badass, and i thought the fight scenes with him were tremendous. also enjoyed the dual lightsaber battle at the end a lot.

6.  Would have liked to have seen Jarjar get pummeled by Dooku or Anakin or someone way too powerful for him.

would have been impossible since JarJar was inserted into VI:

In one scene featured in the 2004 DVD release that wasn?t present in the Special Edition we take a brief trip to Naboo, home of Padme Amidala, Emperor Palpatine and, of course, Jar Jar Binks and the Gungans. Here it is in all it?s glory, complete with Gungans shouting ?Wesa free!??

7.  Loved the mood in the last hour.  Death, destruction, angst, anguish, hopelessness.  Kinda like The Wall.  And I got to see Jedis get minced.  I am quite satisfied!

yup.. very dark.. perhaps darker than i even expected. overall, i really enjoyed it - did pretty much everything i wanted it to and thought it would. i had high expectations, and i\'m pretty happy with it. just want to point out that i believe the star wars music (on a whole) is some of the most amazing music ever written.

12 more hours til i see it again. :D

1st off Dave I think Wolf was saying the action scenes left little to desire meaning they were fulfilling and did not leave you desiring more.
As for Vader being a tragic hero I think Lucas turned Vader from the ultimate evil into a sniveling little brat that just wanted to be loved(boohoo). Most horrible scene in the movie,Vader getting up like Frankenstein and then letting out that PITIFUL NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My lord George how could you let that slip by? Horrible. The look in his eyes though as the Helmet is coming down WAS PERFECT like oh **** what have I done? Overall I have to say having known the story most of my life it was very pleasing to actually see it all go down. I am unsure of its place in the line yet but left the theater thinking it was @ least as good as Empire in many ways but I have to say no matter what was done with these prequels the acting was totally subpar to any of the first 3 movies hands down.
That\'s my .02.

5.  Action scenes left little to be desired.

Think you misunderstood me here.  "Leaving little to be desired" means they were very good and satisfying.  Leaving a lot to be desired would have meant they were bad.

Oh yeah there were some cornball moments, Vaderstein being a perfect example and maybe a couple of the Padme/Anakin exchanges, and the rope-swinging wookies doing a perfect Tarzan call.  I think you just gotta pass them over and think about how the really important moments were executed and the movie as a whole.

Speaking of which, I think they blew it with one of the most important moments in the whole story, when Obiwan slices up Anakin.  You barely saw it if at all.  This shoulda been slow motion, in full view etc.

I don\'t know how you put Eppy 2 ahead of this though.  I just watched it again on Sunday night.  I didn\'t even want to finish it.  It\'s not even good.

heh.. yeah, leith pointed that out. that\'s what happens when i get no sleep. i\'m on fumes right now. :)

speaking of cornball moments: \'i love you.\' \'no, i love YOU.\' :yack: awful.

just remembered yoda\'s entrance completely OWNING the guards!!

we\'ll see how i feel around 6:30 today.. i could see myself liking it better than 2.. but i really enjoyed 2, definitely think 1\'s the worst of the bunch..

i concur with everything said.  and i believe III was the best of the prequels....

BUT

did 2nd graders write the script?

"you\'re so beautiful, padme"
"only cuz i\'m so in love with you"
"no, i\'m so in love with you"
"no, i\'m so in love with you"
"you can\'t possibly love me as much as i love you"
"i said it first"

To those who saw Episode 3: The return of the sith

Would you have waited 1 month is a line for a ticket, like those, uber-dorks, in Holloywood?

Leith,

I hear that. Amazing that I actually, like many others, have waited in traffic for a day just to see a rock band.

I think it\'s something, that the "****" Star War fans waited for a month, just for tickets on opening night. Good for them.

Yeah I guess good for them but I think that I get more for my time and $$ waiting in line for 14 hours to see 2 DAYS of Phish @ Big Cypress whereas they sat in line for a month for a 2hr and 10 min. movie. Whatever floats ones boat I guess.

good for them??  they are total losers......they stood outside for 1 month to see a movie that everybody across the country saw that same exact night or will see it within a week or 2.  They should have been working like all the rest of us.

as for one day in traffic, that\'s different.  That was a one shot deal, not a movie which plays every 15 minutes.

hope nobody\'s feelins were hurt by this, just my $.02
