season premiere was absolutely hilarious. Smithers and Burns w/ the manatee was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Gives me hope this season will be just as good as every other one.

Definitely a promising season opener for the Simpsons. The final scene was hilarious. This season looks like it will be one of the better seasons the show has had in the last 3 years. Looking forward to next week.

Bart: Are they rubes? Because I don\'t hold w/ rubes.
Homer: the rubiest
Being related through the dogs was just funny as can be. You just accept it as the way things are in the Simpson\'s universe.
Marge on the back of a manatee " I got my groove back!" Lmao

Television is neither bad nor good. It is what you make of it. It can be an educational tool or an entertaining diversion. It can be a source of instant news and of course a way to follow your favorite team. It can be a bad thing if that is all you do for any of the above of course but as w/ everything moderation is key.

Im actually a little surprised to see a post about the Simpsons opener being good.

I thought it started out well but then it turned in to another revisiting of Marge leaving homer because of Homers antics. I mean how many times can they run that plot theme. The final scene was funny, Bizarre and funny

But Family Guy and American Dad BLEW the Simpsons out of the Water.

Time to get nitpicking. The thread is not about the opener being good but the last scene thus the title of the thread. Yes Family Guy was a better complete episode and parts of American Dad were bareable. But neither reached the absolute absurdity of that last scene in the Simpsons episode. As for the rest of the epi. there were moments of brilliance wrapped in the used plot outline. Happy?

nitpicking.

I was not referencing your post. I was referencing the replys that spoke to the entire episode being promising.

If you notice the follow ups to your original thread the posters reference the entire episode and i was continuing that train of thought.

If you will notice I used the word POST and not Thread to describe what I was talking about

Marge: I don\'t care _who_ started it.  I don\'t ever want to see you two
fighting like that ever again.  We love you both: you\'re _not_ in
competition with each other.  Repeat: you are not in competition
       with each other.
Homer: Hey!  Apu just called.  This Friday, Lisa\'s team is playing
Bart\'s team.  You\'re in direct competition.  And don\'t go easy on
each other just because you\'re brother and sister.  I want to see
you both fighting for your parents\' love!
        [flicks light on and off]
       Fight!  Fight!  Fight!  Fight!...

Simpsons debut was very good.

Family Guy debut was 3 times better.
