OMG! I think The Colbert Report is becoming more a favorite of mine than The Daily Show.

Stephen Colbert is simply one of the brightest U.S. Political Satirists there has been in years.

His style is so much different from the laid back "snarkiness" of Jon Stewart.
The wild thing is how many people don\'t get the joke w/ Colbert.

I\'ve been enjoying both for quite some time now, but yes...Colbert is the God of political satirists!!!

I have been watching the Daily Show for a long time.

But recently I have been watching less and less. It is kind of like a super bowl team that has had all the good players sign with other teams.

I don\'t think it will ever get back to the quality it was when Colbert, Stewart, Carrell, Beth Littleford, Mo Rocca etc.

It was like a superstar cast.

I like the colbert report but I don\'t tune in as much. If I forget to watch the Daily show I usually miss colbert as well

Even though SNL was way ahead of its time with the whole "fake news" deal, it was really perfected by John Stewart\'s Daily Show.....but like everything else in life, once the mass media gets involved (all the talk and press that fake news has been getting of late), it gets ruined.....

Having watched The Daily Show since day one (anyone remember how they first did Headlines?) I have to say I never thought it would get to the point it would have a spin off.

I actually think The Colbert Report was developed exactly because of the softness in attitude and the general decline of The Daily Show though I rather enjoy the drastic difference in approaches back to back.

I remember Craig Kilborn used to do the show and it blew ass.......
Stewart definitely saved the program.....but I think his day has come and gone as far as I am concerned....

Well thats one opinion. I actually felt by the end of his run Craig was at the point Jon is now. He\'s done what he can with the show now how does it get better. For Craig it was to leave (for more money) and have Jon take over. For Jon I hope it is not the same. I like him but some life needs to be injected into the show.

Craig\'s version of the show just came from a different angle. Less of the New York sensibility of Jon that you probably can relate to more than the way Craig came across. Craig def. had more of a frivolity about him that you probably found detestful. Understandable but it does not mean the show sucked ass. If it had sucked ass it would have not been given the chance with Jon. Jon took over in the 3rd year. If the show sucked it would have just gone away when Craig went to CBS.

I like the Daily Show consistently better than the Colbert Report. Sometimes I think a half hour is just too much for Colbert to handle on his own. BUT... when all goes right, and he\'s got a good interview and a sweet \'The Word\' then the Colbert Report can\'t be beat.

I\'ve been watching the Daily Show from the start though, and even thought Colbert should\'ve taken over as host once Kilborn left, but the classic ones word good too. 5 questions, Headlines, Brain Unger, The Moment of Zen, they had some good **** back then.

Kilborn was hysterical towards the end.

Colbert is starting to get a lot better now. last night \'The Word\' was great.

anyone see the Daily show the other night when Ed somethingorother come back fro the first time in a while? that was hilarious.

I loved Kilborn. He had much more arrogance about him which is why I think some people didn\'t like him. It was all totally sarcastic IMO but it felt more "natural" coming from him (like he is really like that), where Colbert makes it much more comedic so everyone is in on the joke so to speak.

Kilborn built that show. It was already pretty popular when Stewart took over. Stewart definitely inherited one hell of a cast and writers. I think we have seen what happens when that talent leaves. The show just doesn\'t have the polish it did but is still very good

colbert often feels like a great encore after a solid daily show. i like both a lot and they are unique from each other. i dont think the daily show has declined THAT much. i hope both are still going strong 10-20 years from now.
