awesome show. I got everything I could think of. For a being there fan, this was probably the best setlist you could have dreamed of. Highlights: Shot in the arm, radio cure, hotel fuckin\' arizona, jesus ect, misunderstood (best song of the night imo), theologians, walken, on and on and on, heavy metal drummer, RED-EYED AND BLUE!!!!, Monday and outtasite (outta mind). The only other thing they could have possibly played was passenger side but I\'m more than satisfied.

what a show. If wilco somehow doesn\'t do anything for you as a studio band, they are even better live. I can\'t believe I\'ve wasted all these years not seeing them. Wish I brought the camera, there was no security to speak of. People dancing in the isles, nothing against porcupine tree dave, but this was one of the best concerts I\'ve ever seen. sic.sic.sic. :drool: :banrock:

The show most a perfect balance of beautiful sounds, deep deep poetry, GREAT performances (nels is clearly a virtuoso) and fun.   The complete package.

After seeing them live, I\'m beginning to think that they might be the most important rock band of our generation (i.e. excluding the rock pioneers/dylan types of the 60\'s and 70\'s).   Perhaps a good subject for a separate thread...


Think about it, how many other modern bands can you name that have reached their level of recognition without significant pop star/commercial marketing?  Purely on their merits, they have become huge.  If you add into the mix tweedy\'s role in pioneering alt-country with Uncle Tupelo, you come to the conclusion that this guy might turn out to be the most influential artist to come up in our lifetime.

Okay - that\'s an over-the-top exageration, but it\'s worthy of debate....

I mean, they basically played every song I wanted to hear, and that I thought I had a realistic shot of hearing, with the exception of \'I Am Trying To Break Your Heart\'. Really couldn\'t have asked for a better selection of songs.

Simply a marvelous show in every way, from the quaint setting, to the clearly well-schooled and attentive crowd, to Wilco\'s playing, which is just as outstanding when they take it down several notches as when they bring it up.

The encore ovation was ridiculous and unquestionably deserved.

Oh, and one more thing: if you\'re a Wilco fan, especially one who was at last night\'s show, do yourself a favor and buy Being There.

Just got Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. It\'s good. I\'ve listened to it 5 times because I\'m really trying to validate the immense hype, though, and haven\'t yet.

So, please, explain to me more about all y\'alls steemy passion for this here "greatest band ever." Seriously, I mean it. I feel like I just watched Pulp Fiction for the first time all over again. I like it, want to love it, but am a little lost.

Tweedy and Wilco touch on a lot of themes in YHF and all their albums. Though most seem to do with love and heartbreak, lots of it touches on what was the deteriorating condition of Tweedy mentally and physically yet theres a sense of hope and dealing with it (like in the \'distance has no way\' part on Radiocure).  Gordo, check out \'Kicking Television\' . Being from Chicago, you must be surrounded by lots of Wilco crazys.
