First off, I am a HUGE James Brown fan. I went to the local independent cd store about a month ago and stumbled across this gem. The first 5 tracks are unreleased studio versions and the rest is live. However, James decided to give the entire cd a live feel so he input crowd noise between the first tracks to keep the flow of the album. The studio tracks consist of different band members than the live tracks, which were recorded about a year later. This gives you a nice spectrum of his material and how damn tight his band was both in the studio and on stage.
The psuudo sing along sun morn was the ****. (I say psuedo cause I think it may have been just me and Gencs singing it.)
<< Def. was NOT in on that one.
listening to Mahavishnu Orchestra - Visions of the Emerald Beyond.
I don\'t think I need to explain why this record is good. I think you all know damn well.

I actually never listened to Mahavishnu Orchestra. I assume that you recommend it. Visions of the Emerald Beyond is a good place to start?
phil & friends from mountain jam. its good because phil\'s singing doesn\'t sound like a dying walrus!

Not the best place to start IMO. For that lineup the only original member was John McLaughlin.
Spacey I would reccomend "Inner Mounting Flame", "Birds of Fire", and "The Lost Trident Sessions". Once you\'ve absorbed those tackle "Apopcalypse" and "Visions of the Emerald Beyond". The Breakfast used to cover "Hope" and "Miles Beyond" which were on "Birds of Fire".
Jim Cobb, kick ass album, I must agree. I admit I never really appreciated it until i saw most of it played live by The Mahavishnu Project. "Cosmic Strut" is becoming one of my all time favorite grooves....

What, did someone soundforge it?
no, i actually think he could be quite an alright singer.
if he just sang one night a year!
Sounds good Treychica. I\'ll have to Oink an album after work.

try listening in this order:
inner mounting flame
birds of fire
the lost trident sessions
visions of the emerald beyond
apopcalypse
that\'s my recommendation.
New Smashing Pumpkins live show from Brussells.
The new album is going to kick so much ass, these new songs are brilliant!
i\'m bomping this zappa album/bootleg called feaks and motherfuckers. its badass cause its got inca roads teses in "seeping in a jar", two years before inca roads was actually recorded in its first incomplete version. it also has "little house i used to live in" and holliday in berlin, all flo and eddie style. im also a hug fan of flo and eddie staples like call any veg. and wino man, all found on this cd.
i\'m also bomping a live charles mingus album. if any of you haven\'t heard "all the things you c sharp" you should look for it. quite ser, i say.
jurassic 5 self titled just came on. also sick
I\'m listening to the GOBLIN soundtrack to SUSPIRIA. Good Italian music.
Goblin is incredible. Never thought I\'d see someone besides myself, or RickeyRoux mention them on here.

Because Elliott Smith will become a legend.
what kind of music is Goblin?
