THREAD HIJACK:

The Roots are playing the Burlington Waterfront the week before, 7/5 (Sunday). $30.

Don\'t The Roots play every weeknight for free on Jimmy Fallon... Oh wait, off topic, close the thread immediately...

On a side note, I\'m streaming 7/19/08 and actually enjoying it...

ween is a different animal when you see them live. plus they play around the nj area all the time. i could up you a live album of theirs if you like (when i get the chance...may be several days)

if ya haven\'t found them on your own, you probably won\'t like them

plus i dont need any more n00bs to spill beer on at shows anyway

not sure im going to make it to this show, especially since its the week before camp bisco and i\'ll be locked in a drug-dispensing dungeon....

ween has traditionally had tour dates trickle in slowly, so i\'m gonna hold my breath and hope they announce another show in or around their hometown/regions closer.....

I will say, elisa at a ween show is a whole other level of princessness from that of a breakfast show. if you walk away with just a beer spilled on you, you\'re probably lucky. mosh pits aplently.

Now when you say mosh pit, do you mean it like "man, I went into the Suicidal Tendences mosh pit and got my ass kicked" or do you mean the hippy mosh pit where people are jumping around and bumping into each other?

some sort of weird in-between place. too rough for hippies.  too weird for punks.

That doesn\'t sound like a mosh pit to me...

pffft what you know about scotchguard? you\'ve probably never even listened to The Pod.

uuugh you guys are right, fine, sure, spread ween to everyone.

i guess i\'m just a jaded elder, but there was a point in time (when i became a fan) that ween\'s catalog was so out there and weird that it was truly underground. GodWeenSatan, Pure Guava, The Pod, these albums are what drew me to the band because it was so unique, different and **** awesome.

I feel like something precious has been exploited by tourists who only like a fraction of their music, ie the post-White Pepper albums that are all mainstream and easily accessible. don\'t get me wrong, i still love these albums, and i\'ll always love ween, but they are *not* quintessential ween to me.... so if you\'re standing there like a dope during "never squeal" or "pumpin for the man", expect my elbow in your jaw.

flame away, whatevs, it won\'t change the way i feel.

So let me get this straight... There\'s a certain way that you\'re supposed to act at a Ween show... And if you\'re not a "true fan" and know the intricacies, you\'re going to elbow me in the jaw... You sound like a fun person to go to a show with...
