Cool, too bad I\'m just seeing this post now.  As it was I saw Sage Francis last night, who puts on a really good show.  Definitely not your run of the mill show with him either.  However, I would have liked to have seen Tortoise too.  Maybe next time.  BTW caveat to all: The Roxy in Boston charges $7 for a bottle of Sam Adams that they pour into a plastic cup.  That was my first and last beer ever in that place.

I\'ll be the non-conformist of this thread and state that Pavement is among my favorite all-time bands and Wowee Zowee is their best album. It\'s their middle album and completely nails the rawness of their early recordings and the melody of their later ones.

Pavement is a band that nobody I know listens to and though they\'re not for everyone, I know that some people on this board would like them if they gave one of their albums two complete listens.

Knowledgeable Brain Wuzzy/Fax Machine Anthem - I\'ve had Wowee Zowee by Pavement since I was in middle school and share your sentiments.

Since you\'re so schooled in my custom user titles, it serves noting that GRAVE ARCHITECTURE was once one of them and is perhaps my favorite song on Wowee Zowee. Thanks for representing, Z.

Note taken, though I don\'t recall that one.

Interesting that this thread came into existence because I just recently listened to Wowee Zowee after a couple years on the shelf (cd book).

I love Pavement. I discovered them thanks to some guy named Trey. I read an article where he mentioned them as a favorite of his so I checked \'em out. I have since become an avid fan of Stephen Malkmus and have the last two Jicks albums.

Malkmus\'s latest album, FACE THE TRUTH, is solid. I also admit to originally getting into Pavement as a result of the same Trey interview and have always thought that if I ever met him, I\'d ask him to name his favorite Pavement album.
