I absolutely love UM Podcasts. Still can not handle a whole show by them w/o getting bored but w/ the Podcasts there is no getting bored. They are put together very well w/o losing the groove they set out for each one.
you wanna provide a link there lieth? i\'m not sure if \'podcast\' implies it is on itunes or their website or what... i guess i could do some investigating but i don\'t think i care that much.
ive loved these podcasts since they came out. (last year?) my old avatar on here was actually the UM podcast icon. leith, im surprised you cant sit through an entire UM show without getting bored. i would possibly understand overwhelemed but ive been seeing them for years and bored is never a word i used to describe their shows.
i genuinely have no interest in starting an argument but ive seen TLG about 5 times (including what some TLG fans say were some of their best non-frisco shows) and to be honest ive gotten pretty bored at all of them and even left one. i guess its subjective but alas, your boredom with UM confuses me.
Yes, the UM podcasts do rule. 44 is my current favorite. It\'s non-stop monster of structured songs and spontaneous jamming from start to finish, with much more piano than I have heard at any the five show I\'ve seen. Can\'t agree with Leith on an entire live show. Have you heard the 4/21/07 show at the Vic Theatre in Chicago? I was there and it ranks in the top 10 I have seen in 35 years of concert-going. There is common ground (I guess that\'s why we\'re posting here) and then... But to each their own. Enjoy what you like. Music makes the world go \'round. Oh, and remember, opinions are like
****, everyone has one and they all stink.
i agree with leith...their shows are too much of the same thing. there is only about one or two shows that i\'ve downloaded that i could sit thru and only one out of three shows i\'ve personally seen live that i didn\'t get bored at and that was the big summer classic which was a short set.

No worries man. To each their own for sure. I find people that are into the Prog Jam side of things find the Classic Rock type jambands to be boring.

i forgot about the first time i saw them at bonnaroo \'04 when they traded off instruments with bisco... that was pretty cool too, but i still was going back and forth between them and vida blue.
