I was watching the Rangers season opener last night and they were advertising The Jammys tonight on MSG at 11PM
It sounded like it was going to become a TV show for a limited time atleast.
I have caught a 1 hour show on MSG before. It was made up of clips from multiple years. Nothing too early, mostly 2003-2006. The footage is awesome.
THis is live I believe though, and I don\'t thinkk it\'s gonna be a series it\'s just gonna be re-run a few times.

I\'m confused by this statement.
John Mayer, Buddy Guy, Phil Lesh and ?uestlove
this was hot, mayer earned a lot of respect from the crowd with his playing
I hate to admit it on this board but I\'m actually a big fan of Mayer\'s newer stuff. Kinda blues soul
whos got Dish, I can\'t find MSG....WTF!
it\'s on my cable  but I live on the NY border so......

ok this was a little boring IMHO. But I\'m drunk so......
The Claypool thing with Lesh, Gordon and La La, was an awful song. It had it\'s moments but for the most part I wasn\'t impressed. I\'m very much over silly stage antics like wearing a pig mask on stage  just get up there play your tunes and let them speak for themselves. (see my post about Midnight Spaghetti and the Chocolate G-String in the Barefoot thread) The jams had their moments but the actual song writing was dogshit. My first time seeing La La in any form and I\'m understanding now why everyone talks
**** about her. As far as "bass jams" the Oteil/Victor jam when the guys won new groove blew that
**** away. The keyboardist from Duo (Russo? the other guy?) was the best part of the song.
The best part of the show IMHO was easily the Buddy Guy John Mayer blues jam. I did kinda dig the Biscuits jam too, was alittle surprised to see Travis Tritt at the Jammy\'s though.

I think he had just signed to a new label and they were trying to expand his audience. He was just as surprised to be there as we were to see him. I took that moment to hit the bar.

Les is sick. He doesn\'t need to wear a stupid pig mask but he does anyways cause he\'s wierd like that. The les/mike bass duel was really good imho. gabby la la did ruin parts of that song for me. It really isn\'t a great song by any means but Les\'s playing was top notch throughout the whole tune, not to mention the duo, Mike and Phil.
On another note, Travis Tritt and TDB= a really wierd combo. I didn\'t dig it at all.
of course i found the msg channel tonight and not last night...

Like I said it had it\'s moments, and that was a moment. Yeah Les is a great bass player, just didn\'t like the song itself. Didn\'t say he didn\'t play well.
