That\'s what I love about CA - there is much more tolerance for social drinking in public places such as beaches, parks, festivals. Actually, many cities throw beer/wine festivals outdoors in public places and essentially throw the party.

last week at the nevilles:
1: start time was at 8:00 after the opener at 6:00
2: coolers and open beer were fine ON the green. cups are a good idea but i saw NO
hassles for beer.
3. it\'s on the section of the green thats\'s NOT across from richters. it\'s down the street with the stage at the other end.
4. show was over by 10:00
5. there was a lot of police presence but i only saw them arrest one homeless guy who must have been up to something. i saw noone smoking. i even asked them where the nearest liquor store was and they were helpful. they were mostly concerned with keeping people out of the walkway.
6. the lot across from cafe 9 has a fence around it now.

Yeah, but for the nOObs who don\'t know (=YOU), that used to be one of the best places to park for a happenin\' on the green!! Only about a two block walk. SUPER easy!!!
