Jay z makes it but no RUN DMC??
How about Beasties License to Ill?
Those 2 records were Anthem Albums back in the day!
No John Coltrane Live at Birdland?
i wouldn\'t expect RS to include a Jazz album.
But they should have included Derek & the Domino\'s Live from the Fillmore - clapton sets the gold standard for jamband guitar on this album.
Speaking of Clapton, PBS showed a recent Clapton concert last night... something Crossroad. I tuned in during a ripping Jeff Beck jam. Never paid much attention to him, but I will now. Crazy ass playing
that was from the crossroads festival. just about every big name badass guitarist around was there. all i\'ve been hearing are raves from the broadcast/dvd. folks who were there seemed duly impressed, too!
and shame on you for ignoring jeff beck so long! listen to his early rock and roll stuff and some of his more recent. then, once you\'ve gotten a taste, check out his astounding fusion-era stuff! i\'ve always thought b\'fast could do a killer highway jam! especially now that matt\'s around!
fwiw, my first arena concert was srv & jeff beck together in 89. MINDBLOWINGLY PHENOMENAL show! it was just really sad watching the majority of the crowd stream out after stevie\'s set, solely because beck didn\'t come out with foot stomping blues to open the set and was pimping an at-times-expierimental album, guitar shop. i loved guitar shop (and still do) so i thought they were all morons! then srv came out and they destroyed i\'m going down together and the few of us left had to scrape our jaws off the floor....
That Crossroads last night was pretty cool, sadly I missed Mr. Beck and had to turn away when John Mayer was playing.
Steve Winwood was so on I couldn\'t believe it-the old Traffic-Dominoes-Blind Faith type stuff was such a gas!
clapton and winwood are gonna be in nyc next year, just so ya know!
Clapton, Winwood Keep The Faith For MSG Shows
Eric Clapton
November 13, 2007, 2:10 PM ET
Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
After a rare on-stage reunion at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in July, former Blind Faith mates Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood will team for three shows early next year at New York\'s Madison Square Garden.
The pair will play Feb. 25, 26 and 28; tickets went on sale yesterday (Nov. 12) via Ticketmaster. Blind Faith played MSG July 12, 1969, on what turned out to be its only tour.
According to a statement, plans are not yet set for the show\'s set list, which will be determined after Clapton and Winwood rehearse.
Meanwhile, Winwood is now signed to Columbia and will release an as-yet-untitled new album early next year. The project will be his first solo release since 2003\'s "About Time," released on his own Wincraft Music imprint.

I\'m going to go right to the fusion stuff, that\'s what he was doing last night when I tuned in and it was very cool.
Anyone know who his female bass player is? ... and she looks like that chick from "Slums of Beverly Hills"
