I realize that for some you this may be an impossible question but...
I figure it\'s time that I start taking advantage of the ridiculous amount of Grateful Dead shows available online, but I have no clue where to start. So I\'m looking for all of you old-timers to recommend a show for me. Historic, personally memorable, or just a kick ass show... whatever you feel a Deadhead in training should definitely know and love. Thanks.

Duane? Well it all depends on what ya like. I mean each era totally diferent. So here\'s my choices 60\'s:any show from the Fillmore West should be fairly available and totally PSYCHEDELIC!!
70\'s:12/5/71, 8/27/72, 5/26/73, 7/13/76, 2/26/77, 8/30/78
80\'s WARFIELD shows in Sep./ Oct. \'80 just pick one, 9/30/85, 12/15/86,7/30/88,
90\'s 3/22/90,8/16/91, any of the MSG or Boston Garden from fall\'91,5/31/92, 8/21/22/93,
These give you a wide variety too choose from i think.
I agree with you leith, I was at that whole fall tour in 91,the richfield shows were great, before msg, also bob\'s b-day in 89 is fantastic
MInd\'s were blown that tour. I \'m a huge fan of \'91-\'92. Bruce helped breathe some life into the Boyz and it was the zenith of what I like to call "Electronic Dead". If you know the Dead you know what I\'m talkin\' abt.
Oh hey Drew I just found out that some of the Mickey and The Hartbeats are on Archive (thanx John) the dates are 10/8/68 and 10/30 /68 This is the Dead w/o Bob and Pigpen and they are rockin\'.
Stay away from the post 90 stuff... I recomend 7-2-88 Maine...
Its a good place to start...

these are available for sale sometimes. I own both of them. They were called \'Can you survive the acid test?\' Parts are boring, other parts are good. Jefferson airplane bassist plays on them alot.

Stay away from post 90 stuff. Man I thought after Jerry died people would give up that whole GD sux in the 90\'s stuff. Man Anyone who thinks that all post \'90 GD is not worth listening to misses SOOOOOOO much. Oh and if you like Bruce Hornsby playing as a MEMBER of GD try finding that pre \'90. Sheesh some people :sigh:
