it could have been worse.

deblock, seriously, does ANYTHING make you happy anymore?!?!

Seeing this live would put a smile on my face more than you can imagine.  You know me more than 99% of the people on this board and you would know that to be true.

you\'re a phish fan, and bruce is the greatest human to ever walk the earth to you. how could you not be happy about a sit-in?!

I\'m happy and very jealous...  I listened to the three songs w/out listening to the rest of the set.

COME ON.

all the 6 of us were talking about was how thrilled you would be about it. i know i would be if i were you.

i\'m convinced after reading your comments about the bb king sit-in, and the bruce sit-in, that you\'re just upset that you weren\'t there to see it, and because of that, you will say it wasn\'t that great.

Nail Head Hit

the bb king sit-in was one of the worst things i\'ve ever witnessed. he sat in a chair on stage for 40 minutes and watched trey play guitar. he played a few notes here and there, but wouldn\'t jam with trey, wouldn\'t trade licks with him, nothing. and that went on for 40 uncomfortable minutes. if you want to call that great, i can only deduce that you\'re doing so because you were actually there and you want to give it more legs than it actually had. it sucked.

I enjoyed it and I still listen to that show on occasion; but you\'re right, it meant more to me because I was there.

we hung out way in the back for phish on sunday, but when bruce was announced by trey (mind you, i cooked/ate furing half his set the night before, and slept through the other half), i ran up. and i agree with brian to a point - for me, glory days was the highlight of phish\'s show on sunday. it was awesome. you have no idea. if you could have seen the smile that was on trey\'s face, ear to ear the entire time bruce was up there, you would have some sort of an idea. they were having a blast. and people loved it. i thought it was one of the better phish sit-ins i have ever witnessed. it was a lot of fun.

only thing i didn\'t like was bruce referring to page as "mr. keyboard player". oof.

Don\'t get me wrong, I\'m absolutely psyched that Bruce played w/ Phish....  My comments were held to a minimum because I\'ve been accused of turning every thread into a pro-Bruce thread and I didn\'t want hi-jack this thread...

Unfortunately, I can\'t ever know what it felt like because I wasn\'t there... To have all these people that bashed bruce say that it was awesome and that he was great, well it\'s only because he played w/ Phish... Most of those same people were somewhere else when he played on saturday and didn\'t give him a chance even though they were in the same festival...  Right now, Phish and Bruce are ranking #1 and 2 for me, but not being there takes a little away from the beauty of it...

I\'m know, I\'m an old, miserable ****... There\'s always one in the group, and unfortunately it\'s me...

to be fair, page legally changed his last name from keyboard-player to mcconnell in 1980. just shows how big a phan bruce is.

what was so great about the soundcheck, dave? bustouts?

it was thursday afternoon, no one was even really there yet, and we were amongst a group of maybe 100 people that heard it. we were just walking, and i jokingly started singing Ocelot, because i thought i was hearing a band play a song that sort of sounded like it. turns out it was the phish. we ran over and had a great time rocking out to that and funky ****. apparently there was a dog log before that, but we weren\'t there for that. just a great way to kick off the weekend.
