Ten days until Phish plays Fenway Park. Baseball and the band collide.

To get you in the mood, here?s a list of Red Sox player nicknames - each based on a Phish song or cover - inspired by acquaintance TJ Morton, who sent the original roster in an early morning email hours after the Red Sox won the 2004 World Series. It worked because, when you think of it, there are few more passionate fan bases than Red Sox and Phish followers. And now, thanks to the tour opener at Fenway Park, it has a bit more relevance.

The names have evolved since the original conception, and some are certainly better than others. But if you can do better than the likes of ChalkDustin Pedroia, well, we?d like to see you try.

haven\'t read every page of this thread so don\'t know if that was mentioned earlier, but was talking with friends a couple days ago and we were thinking they are going to play that at fenway (with those or similar lyrics)

Just know that I am holding you to your word of revealing your source after Fenway. I\'ll also be curious to know what happened and why they changed their mind and decided not to open with a "monologue song". I\'ll be posting both of these questions after the show, so have your statement ready!

First set, opener, whatever. The only thing on your head is going to be a dunce cap after this **** doesn\'t happen. And you have to reveal your source AND explain when and why Phish changed their mind from the setlist they wrote two weeks in advance.

Thanks for the nicknames Dave, some good ones there. Paul and I are thinking about making that into a lineup-card sign and bringing it to the park this Saturday. The Red Sox should be honored to take the field that PHISH plays on!

got ya dave. you should cite that wikipedia reference, especially since you copied it nearly verbatum. If you were actually a scientist you might know that. (dont take that personally, i have lots of respect for you, just dont make me sound like a dumbass)

back to the point, i still think the comparison is somewhat vauge. i just cant see everyone in the crowd going "I told ya so!" and pointing to the green monster as they are playing BBFCFM...I was refering more to weekapaug\'s post, rather than chris\'s post, about how phish will probably play BBFCFM just because the gren monseter is present at fenway. now "Mound" would be a good choice since there is a "mound" sitting in the middle of the infield.
