that sample left me wanting more. 12 seconds of music= practically nothing for me to base an opinion on. That being said, what i heard i liked(It helped that there were no vocals).
They change time signature like 5 times in it. SOOOOO HEAVY.... The hemispheres refrence is clearly because of the F#7 add 11 at the end.

for those in need of geat old school progresive jams check out the Norwegian band Gentle Giant. Google it. These guys were one of the first to do what everyonelse coppied.
Krispy, I\'m couldn\'t agree with you more! Thanks mentioning Gentle Giant. They were probably the most amazing, and underrecognized progressive rock bands that ever existed! Saw them twice and have lots of their albums and both of their recently released DVDs. Talk about multi-instrumentalists. BTW, they are British. -

Dates have yet to be announced, but Rush will return to the road for the first time in three years this summer.
sounds about right. I wonder if this means there are going to be religious overtones and if so to what level and on which side of the debate. Still have not read roadshow although I loved masked rider. -

Wow. I\'ve had alot of similar feelings lately. I was in Oklahoma and Mississippi on business, and I know exactly what he\'s talking about. A few times I had people force religion into conversation and I really wasn\'t sure how to handle it. I\'ve traveled to Muslim countries in the same capacity, and usually they steer clear of the religion topic. It\'s kind of understood we agree to disagree. It is difficult when people of your own country assume you (should) agree with them when you do not. -

Al, I would suggest starting with "Playing the Fool/The Official Live Gentle Giant." It was recorded on tour in the fall of 1976. The DVD "Giant on the Box" is also highly recommended with 2 live performances and many extras. Also, lots of stuff on YouTube.

In summary, there are 2 "sick" instrumentals; the album is 60 minutes long; old gear was used (which jibes with an earlier rumor about a mellotron being utilized); Alex used the same amp he used when recording Hemispheres on Far Cry; and the album will be available on vinyl. Rumor or not - this is all great news.
