ya know, i\'m torn about these guys.... i like about half of every song of theirs, but i don\'t like the other half enough that i never have the patience to sit through a whole show or even song. i think mainly its his vocals that i don\'t like.  if they were an instrumental band, then i think i\'d like them better... and i *despise* his falsetto, so it doesn\'t help that it seems like he manages to slip it into most of their tunes....

:that:

I tried listening to the bonnaroo show and found myself hating the falsetto.  By the time I got to the last 4-5 songs, I wasn\'t really up for a 14 minute jam that really didn\'t go anywhere.  I skipped the next couple tunes to hear Home Sweet Home and moved on after the first verse, which took like 5 minutes to get to because the intro was way too long.  If there\'s a show that\'s 2 hours or less, recommend it and I\'ll take a listen; I just don\'t have the patience for the 3-4 hour shows.

I was into MMJ a few years ago.  Had two of their albums, they were pretty solid I thought.  I then went and saw them at Bonnaroo in 2005, and it might have been the doses but I got a terrible vibe / presence out of the show and James\' voice got on my nerves like all hell.  I can\'t stand even a second of them nowadays.
