  i consider hendrix more of an innovator of sound and structure than a powerhouse technician.

  Pick up any guitar magazine greatest guitarist of all time and tell me who the #1 is.  Every fuckin time!  The size of his fingers alone gave him the ability to do **** literaly no one else could

  Fella\'s, you don\'t need to sell me on the greatness of hendrix.  I\'m a huge fan of his.  But consider this for a moment:
  
  On stage, Jimi never strayed too far from the high powered feedback driven blues and the showmanship (behind the head, teeth playin\', etc.) that made his name.
  
  There was, and still is for that matter, many people doing what Hendrix did on stage.  They did it before him and they did it after him.  Some even better than him.
  
  The work he did in the studio revolutionized music and the recording process and is the primary reason why he\'s still a house hold name.
