John Mayer Trio can rip
**** UP!!!!!!!!! They can also play musically solid but Boring
****. He DID NOT play the Hendrix tribute and did not play w/ Phil and Friends. Based on what I heard, I would not pay to see the Trio alone but would most def. check them out in a fest or on a good bill. I think it was B.S. for them to advertise the Hendrix tribute. As for the Phil show. I had a freakin\' blast. I was totally amazed by Ryan and totally loved what he brought to the mix. Here is my post from yesterday on Tooboard :
I was @ the NYE show and had an incredible time.
I thought other than the lyrical screw-ups Ryan kicked ass. He even jokingly put his hand up to his head in the shape of a gun and shot it after screwing up Ripple.

**** up and who can name a show they went to where lyrics were not screwed up by Jer or Bob.

Ryan smoked those songs musically and when he DID hit the lyrics he killed it!
I did not hear boos neither did I see people leaving in droves other than the folk there only for Mayer and realizing he would not be playing in the after midnight set.
Phil AND his friends kick ass.
I hope Phil\'s "True Brother" sticks around.
Now all the haters can stick it as Phil has given some insight to the idiocy.
